be a gentleman t-shirt

I can’t claim to really know what’s going on with this shirt at A Better Tomorrow, but I do like it. Anyone else catching hints of Colus Havenga in the style?

purple lollypop t-shirt

I like the style of this tee from Italian brand Jllusion Factory, it’s quite simple but the colour palette works really well and it’s wearable, which is all I should really look for when it comes to tees.

Stormtrooper Face Shirt at Nerdy Shirts

by Andy on September 4, 2011

stormtrooper face t-shirt

I think I prefer the version of this that I’ve seen which was 8-bit style, but this design from NerdyShirts is pretty cool too, and knowing them they’ll be legitimately allowed to sell Star Wars t-shirt too.

portrait t-shirt by a better tomorrow

I’ve been talking to Andre, the main guy behind A Better Tomorrow, and they’ll have some pretty interesting news coming up soon that I don’t think I’m allowed to reveal soon. Though I can tell you that we will have a hands-on review of one of their shirts coming up on HYA in a couple of weeks, so after praising their designs for years we will hopefully be able to praise their quality too.

Happy Yeti Shirt by Tilteed

by Andy on November 14, 2009

yeti600

For me, one of the biggest issues with there being so many t-shirt design competitions is that it’s really hard for me to keep up with what they’re releasing, I don’t even know how I saw this tee, but Tilteed aren’t one of my regularly visited sites so I must have seen it randomly, but I’m glad I did because this is a really fun, simple tee that makes me smile.

Costiness=$12 (until Monday when it becomes $18) Available from Tilteed

Blend Face Tee by Shocking Youth

by Andy on August 18, 2009

It’s fair to assume that they won’t be winning any awards for their t-shirt naming skills, except for perhaps in the ‘it is what it is’ category, but the tee ain’t half bad, something about it is rather EIO-esque.

‘Gore’ from Randr

by Andy on March 28, 2009

moregorecloseup_1

We wanted to show off the newest shirt from Randr a little bit. We’re
absolutely in love with this print and wanted to see what you thought.
Think of it as a Pollock meets Cronenberg meets Politics.

You can pick up this sweet design on sale this week only for $13.99!

I received that e-mail on the 23rd, so I guess you have until the end of the weekend to pick it up for $13.99, who know what it will be next week, $100? $200? $7?

Nicky Hilton goes Vogue

by Andy on October 27, 2008

Wondering why there are so many celebrity posts on HYA today? Look here for an explanation.

I like Nicky Hilton, she usually wears cool clothes, she doesn’t get in as much trouble as her sister, and she actually seems to have a job (a clothing line?). Even though its pretty simple, I think this this tee might be one of my favourites of the day so far.

Ahhh, there’s no better way to start your day than with a supermodel wearing a t-shirt with a smiley face on it. I’d bet that if I were draped all over her then I’d probably have a smiley face too.

If you want one then google is your friend, my friend.

Holy 80s Batman!Seriously, have you ever seen a tee design that wasn’t made in the 80s that looked more 80s than this? I do have a little knit to pick though, the eye on the left (as we look at it) does seem to be a bit too far on the left, although I guess there could be a case of model boob distortion changing the way that the design appears.

Smile Big Hoodie by Touma @ eno

by Andy on April 18, 2008

I’ve clearly gone a bit Asian with today’s product picks, first a tee from Hong Kong, and now a hoodie from a store in mainland China. This hoodie totally reminds me of the infamous Shark hoodie by A Bathing Ape, except happy rather than angry, and not a shark… so basically the only connection is that these two hoodies have a zip which goes all the way over your face, and a printed face on it. Meh, that’s still a connection!

Of Horror I by Akumu Ink

by Andy on March 11, 2008

shirt004c2.jpg

So, ever wanted to wear a horror movie poster on your chest?
shirt004b.jpg shirt004c.jpg

Admittedly, this design doesn’t commit seppuku (italicised to make me feel smart) by going the whole hog and putting in words and other movie promo staples, but the image really reminded me of the style of horror movie posters. I’m annoyed at myself for not coming up with a decent description of this tee, because it is quite clearly amazing, but I refuse to go down that line of ‘this tee is so good I don’t need to write about it’ since that’s just lazy blogging. Luckily, writing about my inability to articulate myself counts as writing in my book, so this post is done baby!

Tanks For the Memories

by Andy on April 6, 2006

Thermalbrn

I was just checking out El Mercado today, and I saw this cool top by Tank Theory.

It looks like pretty thin material, so it would probably suit going over a tee for those times when it’s not that cold, but a bit too hot to be wearing a full on sweater.

The face on the shoulder is screen printed on and looks fairly anguished, but still very interesting, and you could say clever stuff at parties like “yeah, I’ve always been a shoulder to cry on!” But pick your moment because you can only use a line like that once.

Costiness=$30 (people like me rejoice, they’ve sold out of most of the smaller sizes) URL for the el Mercado page here.
