Ground Defenses by Glennz

Glennz: Hey Andy, are there any themes that will pretty much guarantee getting on HYA?
Andy: Well…. ummm… I’m pretty much obsessed with anything to do with Space Invaders even though I haven’t played the game for about 10 years.
Glennz: How very odd, so you just like those funny mosaics?
Andy: Yeah, pretty much…
Glennz: So… if I make a fairly oblique Space Invaders reference then you’ll be down with it?
Andy: Down with it? I’ll probably be so excited by it that I end up writing a really weird post where I pretend we’ve had an IM conversation about t-shirt designs.
Glennz: Wow, that is weird, oh well, I’ve got to go back to my t-shirt design laboratory where I have a team of scientists analysing pop culture references for their hilarity content.
Andy: Cool, xoxo.

What was Kermit the Frog before he was famous? Cynics would probably say that he was a pile of fabric, plastic and possibly wood, or whatever it is that you use to make a puppet. I prefer to live in a ridiculous world of make believe where I’m famous, spinach is poison (if you get the reference then bravo), and there actually are talking frogs which horny pigs are attracted to.

Evolution, Glennz Style

Oh Glennz, will you ever stop making tees that make me COL (chuckle out loud)?

Glennz wants to give you a KISS

freak_of_nature.jpg

I have a phobia of things that fly in an erratic fashion, which includes butterflies, but they aren’t nearly as bad as moths (which have the added danger of loving to eat what I love to wear), so I’m a little nervous even looking at this tee, never mind the fact that Gene Simmons astoundingly long tongue adds to the creepy factor. So I don’t think you’ll be surprised to hear that I won’t be purchasing this tee, but it is still a cool design.Costiness=$19.95 Link

Glennz Mid-Summer Sale

glannz_sale.jpg

I didn’t realise that we were even in the middle of summer, but I don’t give a damn what you call it as long as it means there’s a sale on:

Hi Andy

Just thought id let you know about our Mid-Year Sale which starts 11am CST tomorrow
Sale lasts for 5 days from June 25-30, All shirt prices reduced.

Thanks

Glenn

Here’s what I like about Glenn, the guy is polite, and he puts the time zone into his e-mail, just so that everyone knows where they stand. All the tees are now $13.95 (*a couple are actually $15.95, sorry, still a good price though), which is pretty damn good for American Apparel tees, especially when they’ve got the artwork of Mr. Glenn Jones all over them (note, tees not actually all overs).

Glennz: starship in a bottle

This is one of those designs where I really like the concept, style, and actual image, but I can’t see myself wearing it on a t-shirt. I guess its lucky for me then that this design is also available as a poster, huzzah. I’d be willing to guess that Star Trek fans would think it was pretty cool though. Oh, and since it seems like a Star Trek thing to mention, there was an episode (stardate:46424.1, seriously) of Star Trek: The Next Generation called ‘Ship in a Bottle’, I know that doesn’t mean anything to this discussion, but I thought it was funny that it shows up on the first page of google when you search for ship in a bottle.Costiness=$19.95 Link

I’ve always sucked at Jenga, which made me think twice about posting this, but since this is a Glennz design I just couldn’t stop myself, that man has an innate ability to tickle my funny bone in just the right way.Costiness=$19.95 Link

Endangered Species by Glennz

Ever since it’s discovery in the waters of Japan the sushi fish has become a worldwide delicacy, one of the species is even reffered to as ‘the teriyaki chicken of the sea’. Over consumption has now seen their numbers dwindle, so lets celebrate its delicious existence before it disappears forever!

I really wish that someone would open a sushi restaurant near where I live (we get thousands and thousands of Japanese tourists a year, and yet no one has spotted the niche), then I wouldn’t have to spend whole afternoons preparing fish and rice just so that I could enjoy a few rolls. I wonder if Glennz is ever going to put out a tee that is lame, because this great streak can’t go on forever.

Organized Food Fight by Glennz

Glennz continues his fine run of form with another top notch design. I wonder why he didn’t add faces into the mascots? I know you can’t usually see the face anyway with mascots, but it seems to leave a darkened circle on each character.Costiness=$19.95 Link (also available as a poster for $12.95)
