PXL Spring/Summer 2011 T-shirts

by Andy on May 22, 2011

pxl clothing model

I don’t give PXL the attention they deserve (which seems to be something of a theme on this blog, so many brands, so little time), they make good quality tees and they’re British, and I should probably be doing more to promote British companies since we/they always have to compete (at least on an online level) with Americans who are almost always cheaper.

This latest line is pretty impressive, all items limited to 100 pieces (I think), various printing styles employed (including glow in the dark) and those contrasts in the neck look pretty nice too. [via Tee Hunter]

1935-store2 1935-store3

I always have such high hopes for glow-in-the-dark prints, I want to like them a lot, but in reality they never quite match up to my expectations. The glow is never bright enough for me to be happy, and if it doesn’t glow enough, then what’s the point?

I could be wrong about Threadless‘ glow-in-the-dark prints, they could be bright, I’ve never actually seen one myself to judge it, so I might pick this one up for testing because the concept is just wonderful and one of the reasons why I like glow in the dark for adding an extra dimension to designs.

2 Shirts & 2 Hoodies from Enclothe

by Andy on January 6, 2009

newenclothe

You know what I first thought when I saw these new (and new options for old designs) from Enclothe? That guy is consistent. I’m sure that isn’t the most exciting way that you can describe someone’s work, but Enclothe never seem to put out a dud when it comes to their designs, I like everything in their store, and they aren’t all over the place with the style, so you know what you’re in for when something new is coming up.

One thing that I think is new to the Enclothe range is the use of glow-in-the-dark ink, which is used to great effect on the Ragnarok zipper hoodie. I think my favourite of the four is the Eternal Embrace hoodie, because the whole point of that design is that these two people were locked in that embrace for 5,000 years after their burial in Italy, and every time you unzip the hoodie to tear them apart, genius!

There’s a few detailed views after the break in the gallery for those that want a closer look at the artwork.

This tee is a no glow zone Just glow glow glow!

Kat found an absolute beast of a tee a couple of weeks back that really caught my eye. I don’t actually have any glow in the dark tees in my collection, but I’m always fascinated by them, and I especially like it when glow ink is used in a way that is actually important to the design, rather than just used for the sake of making you glow.Costiness=£15 Tee Link
