T-shirt news for February 15th

by Andy on February 15, 2012

doctor who t-shirt

Y’know, it’s been weird not writing about Doctor Who t-shirts every day, TeeFury have brought me right back into it with this great tee though.

Shirt.Woot have a rather interesting Zelda shirt.

Sons of Anarchy x He-Man at RIPT today.

Okay gang, time to play the “tell Andy what this shirt is referencing” game since I have no idea.

Nowhere Bad have a shirt for all those rage moments you get whilst gaming.

I can’t really take too much heat with my meals, but for those of you that do 24tee have a shirt that may be right up your alley.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Community’s paintball episode was one of the finest half hours of my life, thanks for the reminder TeeRaiders.

Mathiole gets some love with this colourful shirt at DBH today.

This shirt is $11 instead of $20 in BustedTees daily deal (which has 2 days to run… aka not daily).

Deadmau5 wore a t-shirt with Skrillex’s phone number on it to the Grammy’s, that little rascal.

RIPT have a great video (6:31 long) explaining every step in the process of creating one of their shirts, it’s a great walkthrough and worth a few minutes of your time. I didn’t realise that RIPT did their printing in-house, I’d always presumed that the daily sites outsourced their printing work.

Cottonable noticed that Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz is running a design comepetition with MASScanvas.

IAMTHETREND have a great review of Capitl Clothing.

krudmart are holding an end of Winter sale.

Couple of fresh releases from Goodjoe

by Andy on January 30, 2012

marilyn monroe cupcake t-shirt

I don’t think it gets much cuter than that ‘Marilyn Monroecake’ design at Goodjoe this week, it almost made me break out the word ‘adorbs‘ again. Both shirts are $12 each during the pre-order phase this week, then up to $18.

red hook brooklyn t-shirt

During my brief forays into Brooklyn I can’t remember ever seeing this sign, which has apparently been like this for 30 years, but I think it works nicely as a tee design and I like the use of a little bit of red to perk up what would have otherwise been rather a subdued tee.

Costiness=$28 Buy it at Live Poultry (who apparently really like Brooklyn)

screw you co2 cyclist t-shirt

Feel free to substitute ‘eco-concious bikers’ for ‘smug and preachy’, because if you know meet someone that bikes to work instead of driving you will learn about that within 5 minutes of making their acquaintance. Intersesting to see TweetTees over at RedBubble, I thought they found their home at MySoti.

Costiness=£16.67 Buy it at RedBubble

Star Wars Christmas t-shirt

I think that as Christmas tees go Glennz has managed to create something pretty special here, not too geeky or cheesy.

American readers, I have a question, do you still have Christmas lights like this (incandescent bulbs?), in the UK shops only sell LEDs bulbs (use less energy and are a lot cooler, no drying out the tree or setting it on fire!) and I was wondering if it was the same there.

Costiness=$13.95 Buy it at Glennz

teenage mutant ninja turtles t-shirt

That Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shirt, just released today by laFraise, really brought a smile to my face.

Two new shirts from RUReppin

by Andy on November 25, 2011

A couple of nice new shirts from RUReppin. I prefer the busier design to the pun based “Royally Screw’d”, though I must admit that I smiled when I put the name together with the design.

onions for crying out loud t-shirt

This shirt made me ALOL (actually laugh out loud), which is more than enough reason for me to post it.

Costiness=$23 Buy it at MySoti

deep in the woods t-shirt

Hmmm, I’m not too sure about the style of the illustration on this shirt. It’s well done, that’s for sure, but it doesn’t float my boat, since it won the regular contest at A Better Tomorrow clearly someone liked it though.

Costiness=€22 Buy it at A Better Tomorrow (Green/White)

“Planet Mushroom” t-shirt by Goodfibres

by Andy on September 20, 2011

planet mushroom goodfibres t-shirt

Goodfibres have been sitting in my inbox for far longer than they deserve, they’re a newish British label from Shoreditch (aka the cool part of London) that have a fairly sizable catalogue of tees despite their youth. One tee that caught my eye can be seen above but they are many others in the store that I think will suit the attitudes of many HYA readers. All the shirts are made with organic cotton* and bear the mark of the Fair Wear Foundation, so you know someone hasn’t been chained to a sewing machine for 30 hours a day to ensure that you can wear a cool looking shirt. They also make an in-kind donation with every purchase, so if you buy a t-shirt, they will give a t-shirt to someone that needs one (kind of like Toms, but with tees). All of this goodness does push the price up a bit to £25 per shirt, but at least your conscience is clear and you have helped someone less fortunate than you. Oh, and it’s a design contest too, with artists receiving 10% of all sales of their shirts.

Costiness=£25 Buy it at Goodfibres

*I’ve now been told that only 3 shirts in the collection are made with organic cotton, though they do intend to release more in the future.

paddys irish pub it's always sunny in philadelphia t-shirt

Did anyone else see Horrible Bosses? As I was watching it I couldn’t help but think, “good for you Charlie Day, good for you.” I know that It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia isn’t the smartest show in the world, but it makes me laugh and that’s the most important thing in a comedy series as far as I’m concerned. I disagree with 80sTees notion that Paddy’s would be the worst pub in Philly though, there are some real holes in that city.

apples and oranges t-shirt

I always thought that the saying was “comparing apples and oranges”?

kitchen utensil t-shirt

Really like this, I can see it going down well in a restaurant kitchen for about 5 minutes before it gets covered in sauce.

bird t-shirt

The new tee from laFraise this week is nice, but not too exciting, it definitely fits with their style though and I’m sure it would be pretty wearable, but the new shirt isn’t the most interesting thing happening at LaFraise at the moment.

They’ve just introduced ‘LaFraise Unlimited’, which is a fancy way of saying that everything in their back catalogue will be made available via print-on-demand (which makes sense as they are owned by Spreadshirt), although rather confusingly they will only be making designs available when they’ve had enough requests for a reprint, which reduces the ‘on demand’ aspect somewhat, but it is still a cool way of making some of their older designs available that aren’t quite popular enough to require a full reprint.

ideabomb t-shirt

Really nice colourway on this shirt, seagrass (I think that’s what they call it, basically it’s light green) is one of my favourite shirt colours, especially when the sun is out in Summer.

Costiness=$22 Buy it at Choke Shirt Company (with a name like that you’d expect much darker tees, right?)

enjoy spite

Spitefuls, do any of you remember them as an advertiser from the early days of HYA?

I once mis-pronounced Sprite as Spite in front of one of my friends years ago and it’s been an in-joke ever since, accompanied by shifty eyes and scowls whenever it is mentioned, so when I saw this design I had to post it.

Costiness=$18 Buy it at Spitefuls

wild wild midwest t-shirt

I live near the longest lake in England, but it seems kind of bizarre to me that there are lakes so big that they actually need to have lighthouses on them.

Costiness=$17.95 Buy it at Sleepyhead

improvised zombie weapons t-shirt

I really like this shirt, it’s in a great style and has some really useful info for when the zombies do finally being to take over. Also, this is a shirt I’ve had bookmarked for ages, but since it’s on RedBubble there’s no chance of it going out of stock, excellent!

Costiness=$26.73 Buy it at RedBubble
