Crown Dozen marks the return of guest writers on HYA after a few weeks break, and it’s marked with a bit of a change. Instead of recommending something sleeved, Garrett is pointing out a couple of tees from HelloMinor.
FAVE CLOTHING: HelloMinor Death tee (which trumps my old fave, the
HelloMinor Love tee). For serious, HelloMinor and Mishka are the
brilliants.
Death:

Love:

WHY: All-overs are everywhere this year, but this is the one that
first made me say “DAMN, I wish I had thought of that!”
BRAND: HelloMinor
PRICE: Not yet known.
If you want to buy the Death tee you might have to wait a while since its only on sneak preview at the moment, unless you love it that much that you’ll buy about 50 on wholesale and get it now. I can’t give you the costiness but I would suspect it will be the same or near the other tees currently on sale ($20), possibly more considering it is an all-over print, .
Thanks again to Garrett at Crown Dozen for getting involved.

Shimone from San Francisco-centric blog Jungle Life has been good to Hide Your Arms. Shimone has already sent 2 leads my way, so it was high time for me to ask “what hides your arms?”
I picked up the Verse Rhyme hoodie in Dijon from Brooklyn Industries. I was nervous about the bold colors at first but when it arrived I saw they were muted to more natural tones for an effective dose of casual. The pictures on the site don’t really do it justice so I’ll fill you in on some additional details.
The interior of the hoodie is completely lined with fleece making it incredibly soft to the touch. The zipper handle spells out the word “Brooklyn” (this you can see from the zoom image on the site) and when zipped all the way up rests cleverly at the neck. The construction is magnificent from top to bottom – everything is made to last – and the sizing is spot on. Because of the colors used it goes with just about everything – making a flashy statement with jeans or a subtle statement under a coat.
Furthermore, it’s available for both men and women. Men in Dijon and Grey, Women in Grey and Eggplant. If you’re looking to go bold I’d go with the Dijon for men and Grey for women or tone it tone with the Grey for men and Eggplant for women.
Brooklyn Industries has quickly become one of my favorite labels for their frequent sales, affordable prices, great use of color, fresh designs, attention to detail, and quality construction.
The Verse Rhyme Hoodie is on sale right now for $48 (men) and $44 (women) and can be purchased for an additional 10% off using the coupon code “Skyline06″.
Brooklyn Industries actually released a new line of clothing on Sunday (yesterday) inspired by Coney Island to coincide with the opening of the park for the season. Look out for another review of Brooklyn Industries in the near future, though I may struggle to better Shimone’s excellent review!

Kelly Lynn from online clothing store Little Paper Planes was asked “what hides your arms?” this week and she put in some thought (she even apologised for making me wait on her choice, so polite), and e-mailed me the following:
this company emailed me awhile ago http://www.americanfjord.com/html/main.htm to sell on my site which should be happening soon. I love all of their designs because they are all simple line drawings. They remind of children’s books especially the one I am featuring. It shows a little story without it being so narrative that you would not want to wear it. I also think they have a great sense of color since all their shirts have amazing combinations…yup..i like it.
They have a load of great tees for guys (this is still a sleeved blog, btw, whatever tomorrow’s post might make you think), so check them out.

It’s a good thing that Jason started posting at Preshrunk again otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to contact him to be the latest person who reveals what it is that “hides their arms” (patent pending). Ever the modest fellow, it took him time to adjust to the fact that I wanted his opinion on clothing, but when it became clear that I hadn’t made a mistake I got the following gold nugget of information:
I’d love to be involved so long as you realize that you weren’t
trying to ask Josh Spear what’s covering his arms…
It might make you cry, but the lion’s share of my hoodies are plain black Dickies ones, sans the thermal lining and washed enough times in warm water to fade them down to more of an Asphalt color.
The only hoodie I own with anything other than pasta sauce or refried beans – I’m a messy eater sometimes – decorating it is the fantastic 1337 hoodie from Little Gamers. Well, I should say that I used to own it. You see, it’s such a sweet hoodie that I sort of loaned it out to my girlfriend and now she refuses to give it back.
*shrug* Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.
He also gave me a link to his original post where he gives a less sauce and girlfriend based review.

It’s Monday again, so you (might) know what that means, time for another designer/blogger to do all my work for me. This week it’s Josh Naive Clothing, who was able to help out even though he recently became an uncle (that’s right Josh, I flickr stalk, big-time!).
It combines embroidery as well as screen printing and some awesomely well done small print which you can read on the web site. These guys are truly an inspiration to us at Naive Clothing. We love the creativity they come up with in their designs, the combination of embrodery and screen printing is great. I do not own the hoodie cause they don’t have my size but if they did I would own it.
Hope that helps man!
Joshua Martin
It’s a good choice, some people might want to avoid the religious text for personal reasons, but I think it’s a decent quote, from a company that have plenty of excellent wearables in their store.

And tell us what your favourite arm-hinding piece of clothing is!
In what is rapidly becoming a regular feature, I asked Nico from Teees.com what his favourite piece of sleeved apparel is, and quick as a flash he replied with this:
This was a difficult desicion, but I have to say that I really love the “Electronic Performers” sweatshirt by Lite Streetwear. The design is a bit hip-hop, a little electro, very early 80′s street retro but still looks brand spanking new. There is no info on what make the sweater is, but it is said to be cut close to American Apparel.
He doesn’t actually own it yet, but it’s right at the top of his list. He’d better be quick though as its producers, lite streetwear, only make a maximum of 36 prints of each design.
It can be bought through those fine French folks at Dadawan, with a costiness factor of €39.00, and the direct link to the sweater in question can be found here.
