hirsute history

I can’t decide if Hirsute History are running out of people to immortalise in their hair-loving designs or if it’s cool that there are scientists popular enough to have tees made celebrating them.

I guess that Hirsute History are pushing it a bit with their definition of ‘history’ here since Riker was ‘just’ a character on a TV show that ran for 7 years, but I can see why they’ve added his famed beard to their selection of hairy historical behemoths.

Neil deGrasse Tyson hits Hirsute History

I’d never really considered that astronomer, physicist, and all-round ‘cool scientist’ Neil deGrasse Tyson had a recognisable look, but seeing this shirt has made me change my mind on that one.

Hirsute History, for people that like hair

by Andy on August 17, 2009

Shirts featuring the hair of famous people. Not like ‘Britney’ famous, more like important. Well, mostly. Oh, and some beards too.

And that’s what Hirsute History do. I like the way that the site (yet another offshoot from Amorphia Apparel) has a concept and sticks to it, there’s no deviation from one design to the next, and having historical figures rather than pop culture icons from today is a plus too, I’d rather have Nikola Tesla on my chest than Paris Hilton (so to speak). You can also get 10% off your order by using the coupon code HIRSUTE between now and August 22nd.
