Happy 4th Birthday to Hollow Clothing!

by Andy on August 1, 2013

Four years is quite a lot of time in the indie t-shirt world, and it sure does look like Hollow Clothing have been busy during during that time, here’s some stats and a message from Hollow:

- Hollow began in 2009
– Sold to 23 different countries and selling to on average 12 different countries weekly
– Have had 3 collections stocked in two NYC SoHo boutiques
– In the final stages of starting our skate team

“It only feels like yesterday, we were in Newquay on of our regular surf trips handing out flyers promoting Hollow. To think back then, to where we are now just blows my mind – great progress to all that have helped over the years. I think to get somewhere or achieve something, you have to expect to be there. Thanks for your strong continued support!”

It’s really cool to see how brands develop over time, they usually start out with a handful of designs simply printed onto American Apparel tees, and then maybe they add a hoodie or crewneck, perhaps a hat, and from there you can see the confidence grow along with their knowledge of the industry and more interesting and brave products start to come out, and I think that’s the case with Hollow. Seeing things like this make me wonder where Rigu will be at the 4 year mark, preferably somewhere with a warehouse and a few employees helping me out.

To help celebrate their 4th birthday Hollow Clothing are offering HYA readers 25% off their order with the coupon code HIDEYOURARMS until midnight tonight (Thursday).

Mini-range for Spring from Hollow Clothing

by Andy on April 24, 2013

Hollow Clothing released this little lot on April 1st and I have managed to forget to write about it on an almost daily basis so my apologies to them and you on that one, because whilst they call it a mini-range it’s actually pretty substantial and there’s some really nice pieces in the collection. I usually say that brands who only release stuff with their own logo on it are going to struggle to gain followers, but Hollow have been around long enough now that they’ve got a very solid base and this kind of quality presentation of their items is going to definitely help them to pick more up.

Really nice stuff from Hollow, dropping a hat, a hoodie, and four new tees in this range. A lot of their appeal seems to be built around strong branding and that’s why their logo and name feature in a lot of designs, but I think the photo tees is my favourite from this release.

I do like the style of Hollow Clothing‘s logo, it’s very wearable and black o grey is a classic colourway. The shirts are available now for the very reasonable price of £12 each, rather less than I was expecting which is always a pleasant surprise.

Daily Tees & News for December 2nd

teefury highlander t-shirt

When I opened all the daily sites today (21 tabs, Firefox doesn’t care for that much) I wondered whether I’d actually get to see the TeeFury site. Thankfully it turned up, so any possible malware that may have existed yesterday appears to have been removed and all is right with the world again. I remain disappointed by the response from TeeFury about the issue, it took them at least 13 hours to acknowledge any kind of problem (done by their Facebook page), and they only wrote about it after the warning message had been removed. They posted this message on Twitter at the same time as the Facebook message: “If you had trouble reaching earlier, try now! We’ve addressed the issue that was causing problems:″ That link now goes to a 404 page. Frankly, that is not good enough, if you might be exposing your fans to malware via your site you have to tell people by every avenue about the issue and warn them as soon as possible, not when you’ve fixed the problem, and you should make some kind of mention of it when you send out a newsletter that day (presumably to thousands of people). I still like TeeFury and will continue to write about them, but I do not like the way they dealt with this situation.

Nerd joke at RIPT today.

Three new designs in store at Hollow Clothing, a couple of tees, a crew neck and a slouchy beanie. The logo sweatshirt and tee are the kind of thing that you probably need to be a fan of the brand to want to buy (though as you’d imagine I do rather like the red/grey colour combo on the sweatshirt), but the native American styled shirt looks really nice, there’s something slightly 80s logo-esque about it, but good 80s, not bad 80s.

A t-shirt that has their name on it hundreds of times, I’m pretty sure I’m meant to hate this.

Costiness=£7 Buy it at Hollow Clothing
