Bakesy is back at Johnny Cupcakes

by Andy on August 19, 2013

Definitely one of the better Johnny Cupcakes designs to be released over the past few months. It’s yours for $36 if you missed out on it the first time.

Four new designs from Johnny Cupcakes

by Andy on July 9, 2013

I think that this is one of the most original releases from the Johnny Cupcakes team for quite a while, with some interesting and fun designs, because I feel that recently there had been a few lazy releases that were just trading on past designs without giving them the interesting twists that we have come to expect from JC. Tees are $36 a piece (it is what it is, if you want to pay less buy from someone else) as available now.

I quite like the designs on this East vs. West ‘battle’ at Johnny Cupcakes, but I can say that I’m particularly impressed that they say it will take 6-8 weeks before they’re shipped. Up to 2 months for them to print package and post two designs? Am I the only one that thinks that’s a bit poor when you’re paying $40 for a t-shirt?

I know it’s not exactly the most exciting of releases from Johnny Cupcakes, but it really is a lovely colour palette and I think that of all the regular designs in their catalogue this is the one that sums up Johnny’s philosophy the best.

Costiness=$36 Buy it at Johnny Cupcakes Mens / Womens (both already sold out in small sizes, sorry)

20% off at JC is a rarity, so it would be a good idea to take advantage of this.

Join us this Saturday at 1pm to celebrate the 2nd year anniversary of the Johnny Cupcakes London shop! We will be unveiling a couple special exclusive goods, and as always we’ll be handing out all sorts of high-fives and good vibes.

So if you’re in London this weekend you might as well go to Johnny Cupcakes as you’re likely to get a free cupcake out of it.

I don’t think that this is an improvement on the old version, but I would assume that isn’t Johnny Cupcakes intention, just offering a different option. The typework reminds me of large corporations trying to show their softer side, know what I mean?

New shirts and old camo at Johnny Cupcakes

by Andy on January 7, 2013

Post image for New shirts and old camo at Johnny Cupcakes

It feels like a long time since I’ve written about Johnny Cupcakes, probably because it’s been a while since I wrote about most brands after the holiday break. The camo shirts are a re-release, not sure when they were last available, but I am really impressed by that constellation design, it riffs on a very familiar JC theme but that star twist is really fresh.

Tee are $35.99 in men’s and women’s fits, and the beanie is $19.99.

Pop quiz Johnny Cupcakes fans, has he ever had a coupon code larger than 20%? I can’t think of any time he has…

Use the coupon code CUPFLAKES to get 20% off all products in the JC store from now until Monday.

Post image for Freshly baked hoodies new in at Johnny Cupcakes

Johnny Cupcakes added a couple of new hoodies to his store late last week, and I think they look pretty nice even though they’re nothing groundbreaking. You’re looking at $64.99 a piece.

Post image for Johnny Cupcakes x Hello Kitty launches on Thursday, get ready!

Last year the Johnny Cupcakes x Hello Kitty Halloween collection sold out in less than 24 hours, and I expect that this third spooky collaboration between JC and the cute kitty will sell out just as quickly, which is why I wanted to give you guys the heads up a couple of days early so you were aware of the launch.

They’re going live at 10AM on (EST) on Thursday, and the collection consists of three tees (which will be $40 a pop) and one hoodie (which I can’t find the price for). Any of you guys going to be picking one up?

Post image for Three new shirts for the basic range at Johnny Cupcakes

I guess that these Johnny Cupcakes shirts couldn’t get much more basic, but I still think they look quite cool and I like this restrained line of shirts.

They aren’t all new designs, but the colourways don’t suck!

Post image for What’s fresh out of the oven at Johnny Cupcakes?

Four new items in at Johnny Cupcakes to start the week, with three tees and a snapback hat in what looks like the HYA colourway (no, I do not think JC is stealing my colours). I think my favourite is the ‘Bakesy’ shirt which takes the infamous Banksy rioter stencil and puts a baking twist. I’ve been pretty outspoken about people using Banksy’s artwork in the past when one of the things he specifically says is to not steal his work and put it onto t-shirts, but since JC is largely doing what Banksy himself does (taking artwork and altering it) then I see no problem here.

Post image for Johnny Cupcakes introduces JC Basics range of restrained designs

Typically, Johnny Cupcakes is known for t-shirt with big bright pop culture inspired graphics on them, so it’s a bit of a surprise when you see something as subtle being released as the two shirts above. Clearly I’m not the only person to think that this is a welcome change of pace from JC as the grey shirt has already sold out, the green one is still available at the time of writing though. The shirts are $10 cheaper than the usual design too, priced at $24.99 each. Hopefully this range will see some expansion because I think it’s a good complement to the louder designs that we’re used too.

Post image for Johnny Cupcakes & Junk Food Classic Collab Tees

There isn’t exactly anything wrong with these shirts from Johnny Cupcakes (in collaboration with Junk Food as part of their Taste Maker Tour), but I think it’s fair to say that they aren’t the most exciting re-imagining of older JC designs, I’m sure hardcore fans will still lap them up though.

Looks like a fun time with Willy Wonka Johnny Cupcakes, as usual.

I don’t really know what makes these t-shirts at Johnny Cupcakes ‘Summer Essentials’, but they do look awfully nice.
