Nice release from atslopes, I can see that Moola design appealing to quite a few people, it’s a cool way to rework the famous logo. The black Brooklyn tee is also available as a tank top.

“Sight-Seeing” t-shirt by Hips and Hair

by Andy on September 16, 2011

los angeles t-shirt

I like the description on this shirt from Hips and Hair:

Los Angeles…it seems you either love it or hate it. With me, I find myself somewhere in the middle.

That’s actually how I feel about LA too, I think that if I had a car when I’d visited and I’d planned out places I’d like to go more then I would have had a better time, but it was still pretty cool and I got to go to some good places and had a fun time even if I very, very burned by the sun.

Costiness=$30 Buy it at Hips and Hair (available on black and as a grey tri-blend too)

fake it til you make it LA t-shirt

Ahhh, right, I can see how you’d think I’m a driver for a project management business, but actually I’m a superstar t-shirt blogger, I’m kind of famous on the internet. Oh no, no need to apologise, it’s an easy mistake to make.

“LA, I’m Yours” by Kitsune Noir for Poketo

by Andy on September 29, 2010

los angeles t-shirt

If I’m completely honest, I didn’t love Los Angeles when I visited, I got really burned on my first day there, we didn’t have a car to get around, and I broke my camera. I probably needed more time and less jetlag to like LA, however, this gorgeous t-shirt, I liked it the second I saw it.

109 I love NY style t-shirts for you to love

by Andy on December 14, 2009

109

After the success and popularity of my previous list posts such at the 202 Star Wars t-shirts and robot lists (and of course the ridiculously meta list of t-shirt lists), I started saving up links of tees that fit into various categories, but there’s no point me just saving them up indefinitely, so it’s about time I started posting all these lists, most of them don’t quite breach the lofty barrier of more than 100 items in a list, but as they say, it’s not the size, it’s the amount of time Andy spent thinking up the metaphor.

As fasr as t-shirts go, few are more iconic than the design Milton Glaser created to help promote New York (the state, not just the city) back in the 70s. That design has gone on to be used in hundreds of different ways and become part of American pop culture, so it’s hardly surprising that the style has found it’s way onto more than a few t-shirts.

As ever with my list posts, THEY ARE NOT IN ANY RANKED ORDER, the numbers are merely there to keep track of the amount of tees in the list. I say this every time and no one seems to listen, it’s as if you skip the intro and move straight on to all the tees! Also, there are some affiliate linked shirts in there, so it’s possible I will earn money from people buying certain t-shirts on this list, but as I’ve listed just about as many as I could find, it’s hardly surprising that some of the companies have affiliate programmes. Some of the tees in the list are sold out already, and depending upon the success of this post some of them could become sold out in the future, but they could also be reprinted, so in many ways these tees are like Schroedinger’s cat before you click on the link. The list has been split into two pages to make things a little bit easier on my server, but please click through to the second page, because some of my favourites are on there and I think the list finishes pretty strongly, so they’re all worth checking out.

As ever, any exposure you can give to the list (stumble, tweet, delicious bookmark, blog post, digg, ill-considered full-back tattoo) will be greatly appreciated, and I’ll write up a thank you post with links back to everyone that helped in a couple of weeks. Now let’s go love some t-shirts!

Here’s a couple of events going down in the LA (yeah, I know, they get all the cool stuff) and Boston wings of the Johnny Cupcakes Empire. The best part about these release parties? Johnny Cupcakes will actually be giving out cupcakes for a change!

There’s Something In The Cupcake Mix Series 3

With the recent store opening of Johnny Cupcakes Los Angeles, hundreds of die hard fans flew in from all around the country to sleep on the street of Melrose Ave, awaiting for the grand opening of this coveted brand. Johnny Cupcakes flagship store in Boston is used to this type of excitement from fans.

There’s Something In The Cupcake Mix is a yearly Halloween t-shirt release party. Every year, Johnny Cupcakes releases a series of 4 limited, exclusive, monster-related shirts that sell out quick! This year, they should sell out even quicker. Every shirt is numbered up to 150 — but since we’re splitting them between both shops (Boston + LA) — there will only be 75 shirts of each of the 4 designs. Once they are gone, they are gone forever. All shirts are packaged in cupcake mix boxes, with hidden monster trivia pertaining to each of the monsters, a scratch and sniff sticker on top, as well as sprinkles that you have to dust off of your boxed t-shirt.

Doors don’t open until 9pm, but we suggest you getting there early. Feel free to come days in advance to wait in line with other fans. This year, we’re having all of our customers wear their best costumes to the release. We’re giving out free shirts to the first 100 customers. We’ll also be giving out real cupcakes and other treats throughout the evening. Photos and videos of the events will be posted on JohnnyCupcakes.com.

Doors open at 9pm
Wear your best costume!
Very limited – will sellout that night!

Friday October 17, 2008
279 Newbury St
Boston MA 02116

Saturday October 18, 2008
7959 Melrose Ave
Los Angeles CA 90046

From what I’ve been told, the lines will have already started forming for this (crazy!), but maybe if you run down now then you’ll be close enough in line to actually pick up one or two of the limited edition tees.

Johnny Cupcakes LA shoppe: Webisode #4 from Johnny Cupcakes on Vimeo.

Here’s a video which shows off the cult of Johnny Cupcakes. Its a load of interviews with fans (and JC’s parents) from the day when the LA store opened, and I really enjoyed watching it, not just because I got to see the insides of the crazy store, but also because it was genuinely heartwarming to see how far these people would go to support one of their design heroes.

Back To School Bake Sale at Johnny Cupcakes

by Andy on August 15, 2008

Another day, another back to school sale. This time its Johnny Cupcakes getting in on the action, so if you were one of the people refusing to buy a JC tee because they’re usually around $35 a pop, now you can complain that they’re around $25 a pop for a limited time.

Oh, and his LA store is open now, there’s tons of pictures on the site of the new store, for which there was a line of around 600 people for the opening (were they selling iPhones or something?).
