diefame Fat Gold Actually Pretty Good

I looked at Fat Gold‘s shop, and decided that they were “actually pretty good.” If you’re wondering where the ‘actually’ in that description comes from, it’s because I judge a company based on their name when I receive an e-mail, and I thought that Fat Gold were going to be another loud & lame streetwear label, and I was pleasantly surprised by the goods that I found on the site. I’m pretty sure there’s a famous saying about judging things based upon an initial observation.

The t-shirts may be a bit logo-riffic for some, although this Daft Punk logo tribute tee truly tickles me, but I like the strong simplicity of the line and that all the colourways look very wearable. They offer free delivery in Malta, so it’s safe to presume that Fat Gold are a Maltese company. I went to Malta once a few years ago, and all I remember is dog crap in the streets, a massive bell that rang out just as I walked up to it, and that the whole island was collectively awarded the George Cross for the battering they received in the Second World War.
