A Year of T-shirts

by Mr Four Fingers on January 27, 2013

A year of t-shirts

Well it has been almost a year since I joined Hide Your Arms and I figured, hell, why not recap on the t-shirts that have entered my wonky wardrobe since I  joined. These are a combination of reviews and tees I have bought for myself (what’s the world coming to). It has been great to meet new folk and learn about them and their brand journey, seeing what works and what needs work.

Best wishes for 2013 and I hope to do many more. My thanks goes out to you!

In no specific order (there are a few missing):

Colus Hunter t-shirtcolus t-shirt

One of the coolest designers I have had the pleasure of meeting (well via the web). I always get comments when I wear one of his designs. You can read a review of Colus here.

1st Tee – Hunter $26

2nd Tee – Amour Propre $26

Danse Macabre

Danse Macabre t-shirt

This is one of the weirdest t-shirts in my collection and also one of my favourites. The guys at my work did not notice the design until I showed it to them properly. Now every time I wear this Tee they can’t look at me. Indirectly via a mirror maybe. Danse Macabre have since closed their doors and started a new brand called Wood & Nails. There is a review of this t-shirt if you are interested even though you can’t buy it.

Mathiole – Terror Vincit Omnia

by Mr Four Fingers on March 8, 2012

By now you will have probably seen or heard about Matheus Lopes Castro, AKA Mathiole. He has no doubt been posted here a few times, well I know he has. Mathiole is a blady t-shirt design machine, I think he has over 20 wins at Threadless and is working towards the same number over at DBH.

But as this is a recent purchase, I figured I would drop a few lines.

This design is entitled Terror Vincit Omnia, a name that is certainly hard to remember and actually means Ruled by Fear.Supposedly it the first design on Threadless to feature nipples. So now you have nipples and a satanic priest  combo (I think)

I was keen on getting a t-shirt from Threadless as they print on Fruit of the Loom and I was interested in seeing the quality, as the FOTL that I have are heavyweight. However the fabric feels way to soft for FOTL, so I will have to investigate further.

Grab this some Terror over at Threadless for $20 and their post is faster than they let on. Saying this, when you visit Threadless, the guys t-shirt overview shows this T as £12.50. So not sure now.

doctor who t-shirt

Y’know, it’s been weird not writing about Doctor Who t-shirts every day, TeeFury have brought me right back into it with this great tee though.

Shirt.Woot have a rather interesting Zelda shirt.

Sons of Anarchy x He-Man at RIPT today.

Okay gang, time to play the “tell Andy what this shirt is referencing” game since I have no idea.

Nowhere Bad have a shirt for all those rage moments you get whilst gaming.

I can’t really take too much heat with my meals, but for those of you that do 24tee have a shirt that may be right up your alley.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Community’s paintball episode was one of the finest half hours of my life, thanks for the reminder TeeRaiders.

Mathiole gets some love with this colourful shirt at DBH today.

This shirt is $11 instead of $20 in BustedTees daily deal (which has 2 days to run… aka not daily).

Deadmau5 wore a t-shirt with Skrillex’s phone number on it to the Grammy’s, that little rascal.

RIPT have a great video (6:31 long) explaining every step in the process of creating one of their shirts, it’s a great walkthrough and worth a few minutes of your time. I didn’t realise that RIPT did their printing in-house, I’d always presumed that the daily sites outsourced their printing work.

Cottonable noticed that Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz is running a design comepetition with MASScanvas.

IAMTHETREND have a great review of Capitl Clothing.

krudmart are holding an end of Winter sale.

Daily Tee & News Roundup for October 31st

free hugs t-shirt

Hmmm, something seems a little fishy about this offer of free hugs at TeeFury.

Qwertee are giving us a realistic version of Sonic the Hedgehog (with Tails and Knuckles too).

Nowhere Bad have a Blade Runner themed shirt available.

Great image from Shirt.Woot.

Huh, not often that you get one Sonic design in a week, but thanks to The Yetee this is our second of the day.

TeeMinus24 have a Zombieland-themed shirt referencing the different ‘rules’ that Jesse Eisenberg has for surviving a zombie apocalypse.

I’m fairly addicted to Reddit, so I like this shirt from 24tee.

Mario Boos design from TeeRaiders today.

GraphicLab themselves admit that this style of shirt has been done to death, but ‘hopefully evil’ is something I haven’t seen before.

Shirt Punch give us the most explicitly Halloween themed shirt of the day with ‘Monster Mash.’

RIPT have a cool Mario-inspired shirt today. Is he fighting the power? Is Mario the 99%?

Vaughn de Heart have got a new look website and to celebrate they’re offering 30% off from now until November 6th with the coupon code Forza.

Mashable have got 10 reasons why your website could be costing you sales. Some of these things are pretty obvious, but I think all store owenrs should give them a quick look to get them thinking about their site.

TSHIRT STORE released a slew of great new tees, I think I’d wear every single one, which can’t be a bad thing.

As someone who writes for a living a post called ‘SEO for Non-Dicks‘ got my attention, and whilst SEO bores me to tears, it is unfortunately something that we people of the internet need to know about to get ahead, and that includes t-shirt site owners.

“Done with Problems” new t-shirt at RUReppin

by Andy on September 22, 2011

rureppin t-shirt

When it comes to design competitions it’s a fairly good bet that Mathiole will come along and get a winner every so often, and that’s hardly a surprise because the man has a lot of skills, as he demonstrates once again with this shirt for RUReppin. By the way, did you see Dee’s review of their tees? that lady sure knows how to do a good review, I’ll be making sure she gets sent more tees in the future.

RUReppin are currently looking for a blogger at the moment as well, so if you are interested be sure to get in touch with them.

Costiness=$19.97 Buy it at RUReppin

born to rock t-shirt

Am I the only person that can see an aging rocker Dad wearing this t-shirt?

Costiness=€22 (early bird price, it rises to €28 next week) Buy it at A Better Tomorrow
