I think we’ve all been shocked by the scenes in Japan over the past few days, from the initial videos of the tsunami waves sweeping through towns and villages engulfing almost everything in their path, the rising death toll, and the possibility of nuclear catastrophe (that may well be being overstated in the media but is still a very dangerous situation). Japan is very well equipped for this kind of situation, children learn from an early age about how to react when there is an earthquake, but the scale and power of what happened on Friday is of an unprecedented scale, and no one could prepare for that. I haven’t even seen anything yet about what damage may have been done to small, remote Pacific islands, some of which lie only a few metres above sea level. Google have setup a crisis response page with lots of information, including a way to give money to the Red Cross in Japan directly.
I know it’s only a small gesture, but I feel that I should at least try and do something, so I will be donating 50% of all poster sales to the Red Cross for the rest of March, and possibly beyond. This amounts to a £2 donation when you buy a single poster, and a £5 donation if you buy the pack of three Hide Your Arms 5th Anniversary posters. Hopefully the money will raised will be able to do some good in Japan, and around the rest of the world. I will keep you all updated via Twitter and Facebook about how donations are going, and write a follow-up post at the end of the month letting you all know how well we’ve done.
Like I said a few weeks ago, the posters are good quality and I’m really proud of them, and it would be fantastic if the great work by Milk & Eggs Co. (the designers) and the 5th anniversary of my silly little t-shirt and hoodie blog could help save a life or ease the burden of someone that must be going through hell right now.
Please consider buying a logo poster, “Five” poster, “Come rain, come shine” poster, or all three together in a pack. Posters are shipped in a tube to make sure they won’t get damaged, and come with a free HYA pin badge and die cut sticker.

[Andy: I know that the first part of that message was intended for just me, but I like it, I like that there are companies out there on the other side of the world that will take a second to ask how me and my wonderful lady are doing even with the madness of Black Friday slowly devours the mind of everyone connected with the tee industry.]

After taking a couple off posting days to send out e-mails promoting the typography t-shirt list (please, please, please keep sharing it with your friends, I need your help!) I thought I’d better get back in the swing of things, and it turns out I’m addicted to writing lists this week, because instead of putting out lots of individual posts about the various sales and offers going on at the moment I’m just going to put them all together in one big post. On another note, but as I seem to be rounding up new here I’ll include it, I’m on the hunt for a female model for the HYA tee (I’m working on the assumption that you ladies aren’t buying it because you don’t know what it will look like being worn by a woman), I can’t offer pay since it’s not really a clothing line, but I will send a free shirt to someone that can send me back some cool photos of them wearing it, e-mail me if you’re interested.
Terratag are clearing out their Spring/Summer line and that means they’ve got tees as low as £10 and a load of other goodies at low prices too.

Badashell Clothing are also running and end of summer sale, and looking at the state of the weather outside my window, it is most definitely the end of summer. Just about all of their tees are $10-$12, which is pretty darned good.

Use the coupon code HIDEYOURARMS to get 25% off your order at Milk & Eggs Co.

Use the coupon code promo 15 to get 15% off at Red Fox Tees.

Altru Apparel are giving away a couple of t-shirts on their facebook page, all you have to do is tell them which of their tees is your favourite and why, best two answers (one guy, one girl) will win a t-shirt. The competition ends September 5th.

That promo picture is a little bit naughty because as far as I can tell there’s only one tee left hitting that magic 70% off mark (though to be fair, they may have sold out of the others at that disount), but Rakes & Strays makes some really high quality t-shirts, so it’s fardly surprising that there aren’t bargain-basement prices around.

I’m not really a fan of their designs, but CHOU store are now offering free shipping, no matter how much you order or where you live.

Costiness=$22 Buy it at Milk & Eggs Co. (and check out the rest of their new line while you’re at it!)
*Curious about the lack of words? It’s the “minimalist tee posting weekend”!
