This faux info-mercial has been doing the rounds on the tee blogs recently but it’s taken me until now to get around to watching it (I’m so busy blah blah blah). It’s a lot of fun (the Anna Faris bits are especially funny) and I’m always happy to see Mr. T gracing screens in any form. Being in the UK I doubt that I’ll ever be able to judge if it really is the best tee of all time, but who knows with HYAs ever expanding list of contributors.
Not often that I post a yellow t-shirt, not that I have anything against them, they just don’t seem to be the canvas of choice for a lot of designers. Having said that, I should probably describe this Glennz design as ‘gold’ rather than ‘yellow’, especially considering the pop culture icon featured on it.
I know that there are a lot of people out there that think this is a really cool design from Threadless, but I still don’t like it, it’s just a DTG print of a photo for me, and that doesn’t make it special. The whole point of this design is that it’s Mr. T, made of tees, on a tee, and the photo element of this design really detracts from it for me. Also, the print itself looks a little grren for me, it could just be the photo, but it doesn’t look quite right, or is that just me?
I know this is a negative post, and it’s a good concept, but this tee falls down at a few hurdles for me.
I think I’ve finally found a tee that even I am willing to destroy my own personal beliefs for and use leet speak to say that this design of a pigeon in full Mr. T garb made me LOL, and even LOLL (laugh out loud, literally).
I’ve had this design from Tee and Toast bookmarked for quite a while since I thought it was cute and funny, but since there has been a big furore recently over claims that Mr.T is homophobic (as if he was the one that wrote the script for a Snickers advert), I thought that he needed a bit of positive attention. This tee is clearly stating that Mr.T is concerned about people not drinking tea when it is potentially beneficial to your health. Thanks Mr. T!
