Stormtrooper Face Shirt at Nerdy Shirts

by Andy on September 4, 2011

stormtrooper face t-shirt

I think I prefer the version of this that I’ve seen which was 8-bit style, but this design from NerdyShirts is pretty cool too, and knowing them they’ll be legitimately allowed to sell Star Wars t-shirt too.

Angry Birds t-shirts at NerdyShirts

by Andy on April 28, 2011

angry birds t-shirts

Okay, remember a couple of days ago when I said I wasn’t an Angry Birds addict? This is how my morning routine went: “wake up, pick up iPhone, look at e-mail, look at Tweetdeck… try to blow up those weird pig things.” I give in, you win Angry Birds, you win. Thankfully they don’t win enough for me to want to order one of these shirts from NerdyShirts, but I’m sure some of you will find it harder to resist.

40% off 23 tees at NerdyShirts

nerdyshirts sale

I’ve got no idea if this sale at NerdyShirts will be lasting beyond just Black Friday or not, so you should probably treat it as being for just today. Naturally, it’s mostly their older designs that are on sale. As I was looking through the designs, I noticed that not all of them have the fll 40% off, I’m not sure if that’s because I’m writing this a few hours before it’s posted (come on, HYA is running at a post an hour today, I have to sleep!), or if that’s how it’s going to be throughout the whole sale. Make your way to the sale section at Nerdy Shirts to see what’s on offer.

Stormtrooper Face t-shirt from NerdyShirts

stormtrooper face t-shirt

When I looked at this shirt for the first time I was immediately reminded of this brilliant shirt from Boom!, but I’m not calling ‘rip’ on this design since the NerdyShirts version doesn’t have a tear on it, and it’s licensed, which is something I doubt you can say for the Boom! version.

zelda t-shirt

Is it just me or should this shirt almost definitely have “Don’t make me go Zelda on your ass” written on it, that’s the saying, right? The only references I can find on Google to this phrase all revolve around this shirt design, maybe NerdyShirts just didn’t want to have a slightly naughty word on their shirt, or is there just a meme here that’s totally passed me by? That said, they have got the style spot on, so I’ve got to give them that.

vote yes on prop 19

Let’s be honest, I have no right commenting on whether cannabis should be legalized in California, hell, I’ve been to Amsterdam twice and never partaken of a spliff or a brownie (though given the choice, baked goods would always win for me), but it seems to me that if it was legalized then it would take the market away from criminals, make it a lot less ‘sexy’ to smoke weed (non-legal things are a lot less interesting once they become legal), and they could even tax it, buh-bye deficit! There is of course a bad side to marijuana, such as addiction and believing that Cheech & Chong movies are funny (I’m so out of drug culture it took me a minute to think of that weak-ass reference). Still, I’d probably side with NerdyShirts that Prop 19 should be passed.

Speaker City t-shirt by NerdyShirts

speaker city old school t-shirt

I really like Old School, but do I like it enough to wear this shirt from NerdyShirts, that celebrates the fictional (right?) store that was proud to be the official sponsor of Mithc-A-Palooza?

Suits Suck by NerdyShirts

by Andy on August 8, 2010

suits suck entourage t-shirt

NerdyShirts are in no way the first company to release an Entourage referencing Suits Suck shirt, and I don’t really understand why they’re releasing shirts at the moment based on movies that weren’t that huge when they were released (and released a few years ago too), and shirts based on internet memes that I’ve never heard of, but it’s their business and clearly they know what they’re doing. Anyway, suits suck is a cool shirt, it’s blatant, it’s bold, and it couldn’t be much more in your face.

I See Dead Pixels by NerdyShirts

by Andy on May 5, 2010

I See Dead Pixels

I know it’s a really old reference, and by ‘really old’ I mean that in internet terms, since in internet years HYA should be drawing it’s pension in a month or two. Anyway, I see dead pixels, and I see the IT guy at every insurance company ever wearing this tee to work.

Oh, looking at the URL of this tee, is this design something to do with Forgetting Sarah Marshall?

Batman Costume Hoodie from NerdyShirts

by Andy on July 21, 2009

Okay, so this clearly isn’t as badass as anything from The Dark Knight, but I think that when you’re wearing a novelty/costume hoodie that you need it to be more than a little bit tongue in cheek, otherwise it’s just not going to work. The fact that this hoodie comes with a cape is pretty awesome, but it’s far more awesome that you can remove the cape for those frequent times when you don’t particularly feel like being continually mocked. You can also fold the mask into the hood, so whilst this hoodie looks as if it’s a bit of a joke initially, you can tone it down so that it’s still a bit of fun but is actually pretty wearable, good work NerdyShirts!

202 Star Wars T-Shirts [Lists]

by Andy on July 16, 2009

I think that you’d be pretty hard pressed to find a series of movies that have gained as much of a following as Star Wars, and as you’d expect that has resulted in a huge amount of t-shirts being produced that reference the films in one way or another. So, being HYA, I thought that I’d better make an unnecessarily large list of them. As always, the t-shirts are not ranked, the numbers are merely there as an illustration so that we all know which is which, so being #1 or #202 means nothing. Some of these tees will be pretty recognisable as they’ve been featured on HYA before, and some were also in the 101 Robots List from last month, but if you know of any I haven’t featured then please let me know in the comments. The list has also been split up into pages to ensure swift loading times (my server may probably wouldn’t like people loading 202 pictures at a time).

As you would expect these lists take quite a long time (this one took about 30 hours, seriously), so if you deem it worthy, it would be fantastic if you could promote this article in any way. Twitter, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Digg, your own blog, carve the URL onto a tree, anything!

The Hangover by NerdyShirts

by Andy on July 14, 2009

I know I’m pretty late posting this, but I think it’s a tee that’s funny whether you’ve seen the movie or not, so it’s topicality isn’t necessarily that important in this instance. For the record, I really enjoyed the film, it didn’t really raise a lot of belly laughs with me, but there were a lot of little chortles, though I did seem to be laughing at different times to everyone else in the cinema, which is probably because I ‘got’ the jokes which needed American knowledge, and it was really cool to reminisce about my few days in Vegas too. Unfortunately, with me being a bit late posting this, NerdyShirts are pretty limited in terms of sizes at the moment.

Costiness=$19.95 Available from NerdyShirts

I haven’t been keeping too close of an eye on the new Bruno film (though I was apparently mere metres from him in Berlin without realising), so I don’t really understand what this tee means, I presume that “GayBy” is pronounced like “baby,” I can imagine someone saying that with an Austrian accent, but I can’t see myself wearing it. I’m sure everyone will be saying it in a few weeks…

One thing I like about Twitter (follow me, validate my self-worth!) is that it has resulted in there being a lot more coupon codes and flash sales occurring, and NerdyShirts are in on the act with a coupon that will get you 10% off ‘this week’ which is a pretty vague schedule since I got the DM at 2am GMT on Friday, so do they mean it expires on Sunday night, or that the code will run until next Friday? Would it be so hard to just put a date in the tweet?

101 Robot T-Shirts [Lists]

by Andy on June 19, 2009

With the release of what is almost certain to be the greatest movie of all time today in the UK and across the world over the next week, I thought it would be an excellent opportunity for me to hunt down some robot t-shirts, especially as the previous robot-themed lists have are two of Hide Your Arm’s most popular articles to date. I must admit that I was a total child for the first Transformers live-action movie, even though I realise that in many, many ways it is utterly terrible, but I still smiled throughout the whole thing because it was goddamn awesome. Robots, fighting, and Megan Fox, what more could I possibly want? I’m pretty sure that you could rob my house whilst that film is on TV and I’d only realise you were doing it once you unplugged the Blu-Ray player. I guess you could say I’m a little excited about Revenge of the Fallen being released, which is why I went a little robot crazy and compiled this huge robot tee loving list. Enjoy!

Apparently the makers of Diablo 3, y’know, the people that own the copyright and intellectual property of the game, weren’t too happy about NerdyShirts making this design, so they’re going to have to stop selling it on Thursday (today, arrrgghhhh!), and I guess that they’ve had quite a few printed up that need shifting, because it is now available for the rock bottom price of $5. If that’s still too much for you (cough-cheapbastard-cough), there’s also the coupon code of ackbar that will get you 10% off your NS order up until the 16th.

Argh, this one has been sat in my inbox for a few days, I totally forgot about it. For what I believe to be an unlimited amount of time, you can get 20% off at NerdyShirts by using the coupon code HideYourNerds. Stupendous!

Hmmm…. what might this be?

by Andy on February 20, 2009

NerdyShirts have got an interesting coupon code giveaway going on. On their blog they have placed a code that will give the first hundred users $10 off their order, the only catch is you need to find it first. It’s pretty easy to find, so it’s possible that all 100 coupons have gone already, but you might as well try your luck.

Oh, and NS are continuing their “seriously, check out our weird commercials, they’re really weird” series of commercials, this time with a girl sat in a field… and that’s it. Embedded below for you convenience, naturally.

From what I understand, The Watchmen is basically the most important movie to ever be released ever, or am I misinterpreting hearing about it every 5 damned seconds on the internet? This t-shirt apparently has something to do with the movie, anyone care to enlighten me?

Also, NerdyShirts have a new site, a new blog, and a commercial (embedded below) which makes about as much sense to me as this t-shirt design does.
