New site and lookbook from DeadBuryDead

by Andy on September 6, 2012

I’m not entirely sure if this new lookbook and site also coincides with DeadBuryDead releasing new items in the store, but there certainly are things in there that I don’t remember seeing before. Very nice website design, as long as you’re into large photos, which I am. Just a pity that I have to embed the lookbook above rather than have the actual jpegs, but I’m sure everyone enjoys flicking through a flash magazine.

fistful apparel new site

The gang over at Fistful Apparel got in touch to let me know that they’ve released a new website, a couple of new tees (I say comic inspired in the title, but that’s largely because one of the artists has drawn for every studio you can imagine), and they’re going to be exhibiting at the Pool Tradeshow in Las Vegas in the middle of February, sounds like things are on the up-and-up for them. Both tees are available in men’s and women’s sizes now for $22.

Peace & Ice Cream launch a new site

by Andy on January 25, 2012

peace & ice creamPeace and Ice Cream got in touch a few days ago to let me know that they launched a new site. Since I’d never heard of them before means that their having a new site means nothing to me, but their site does look good so well done to them, though it might be a good idea to change their homepage title from ‘Volusion Demo Store.’

They have some really cool designs, all very wearable, I especially like the style of their logo tee, it really fits with their aesthetic and seems to encapsulate the brand. I look at the designs, the people they got for the model shots (which are charmingly non-professional whilst still showing the tees well) and I just think, “these guys seem really nice, I wish I was friends with them.” If your website gives me that feeling, you’re doing pretty well in my bookblog.

T-shirt news for January 24th

by Andy on January 24, 2012

cat skull t-shirt

Can you imagine if you walked into a house and there were this many cats… it would be terrifying. $10 at TeeFury today.

I know what you’re thinking, this is just yet another t-shirt about imaginary Pinata companies, and when with this pinata meme die? Well, at least this one at Shirt.Woot is based on the 1986 film ‘Three Amigos’.

The Muppets meet Futurama with this Hypnokermit t-shirt at RIPT today.

New shirts and a new site from OMUNKY

by Andy on November 10, 2011

walrus t-shirt

Let’s be honest, a t-shirt store haven’t a new site isn’t massive news, as someone who has experienced the redesign process from the inside numerous times I know it feels like the most important thing in the world, but unless you’re Facebook you’re never going to get a massive amount of feedback or excitement even though you spent days and days obsessing over the tiniest pieces of code.

Their new site is an improvement, it looks nicer than the last version and there have been a load of new features introduced (faster checkout, new payment options, and a rewards programme).

New tee ‘Wet Walrus’ is gorgeous, definitely my favourite shirt that they’ve ever released, I love the colourway and the use of negative space is just gorgeous. The other release is ‘MUNKY Tree‘ which regular readers will notice isn’t new at all but actually a reprint that has been tweaked a bit. I like the idea of artists going back to older designs and giving them a refresh, there’s no point in being nostalgic about tee designs when people feel they can improve on them if their own talents have improved.

LUVD are back with a hot new site

by Andy on September 2, 2011

luvd new site

They’re back? I didn’t even know they’d gone away!

Now that is a good looking website. I don’t think it’s that much of a stretch to say that it is one of the nicest looking websites I’ve ever seen for a clothing company, it’s very clean and cohesive, and it really fits with their brand too. They’ve got some great looking shirts in store that I don’t remember seeing before so I guess they’ve had a few releases since I last checked, I wholeheartedly recommend that you check them out too

guy vernes t-shirt

Looks like Guy Vernes have been busy recently, dropping a new website with lots of cool looking effects (everything has a snazzy rollover), and a couple of new designs too. Of the two I think that the tear-drop style of Atlantis (heather/cranberry) is the more interesting, but I can certainly see how Mark of Eros (black/white) would appeal to people too, it’s a wearable night out kind of a shirt. Both shirts are on the edge of acceptability in terms of pricing at €29.99 each, but I think that they might be custom fit shirts which certainly would push the price up, and if you really like the shirt then I’m sure that you’ll be able to get over the price.

teefury mobile site

It’s no standalone app, like Threadless recently released for the iPhone, but this smartphone-optimised site from TeeFury looks pretty good to me. There are a few complaints on their forums that you can’t access the forum using the mobile site, but since I’m not the kind of person that uses their forums then I’m not too bothered about that, and there is a ‘go to full version’ link at the bottom of every page that I could visit if I felt the need to visit the forums and participate in that way. I’ve included a little gallery showing various pages snapped on my iPhone. To be honest I’m not entirely sold on shopping using a mobile phone yet, aside from the eBay app which is linked to my PayPal account, and even then I mostly use that for research, but having a website that is optimised for mobile would make me a lot more likely to purchase a tee from a site if I were looking at it on a mobile phone. I think that for a site like TeeFury where there is an element of “you’ve got to get it now or never get it” then giving you a simple and quick option for you to buy a t-shirt anywhere (that has mobile signal) makes a lot of sense.

new seibei site

I teased about this last week when mentioning that our coupon code switched from HIDEYOURARMS to the rather more succinct HYA (good for 10% off), but I had clocked off for the (sunny) weekend by the time the new site went live. From the looks of things there aren’t any new shirts up on the site, but it is nice to see that Seibei has got a new site since the old was was showing it’s age. There is even a Japanese-language version of the site, which is pretty neat.

New site & 2 new tees from DeadBuryDead

by Andy on December 8, 2010

When I get an e-mail mentioning an updated or redesigned website I’m ready to meh all over the place, but DeadBuryDead have actually build something pretty nice here, filling my big HD screen with a photo and laying the more traditional elements of the store over it. The site looks good, I certainly can’t discuss my pet peeve of tiny product pictures because there are plenty of shots of each item, and of course there’s the massive photo in the background at all times too.

The new shirts are worth taking a look at, though it’s probably a bit of a tough task trying to sell tees at regular price ($23.99) when there are so many sales going on at other stores around the internet at the moment.

It had ALWAYS bigged me that Beautiful/Decay didn’t have their own shop, they had so many great designs (and high quality too, as I mentioned ever-so-frequently), yet they were piggy-backing on the Indie Merch Store. I mean no disrespect to IMS, but it just seemed beneath B/D to be in that position. Thankfully they’ve released the latest iteration of the companion website to the print magazine, and it has a real storefront in it showing off their delectable goodies. Oh, and 10 mystery tees for $80 (and free shipping since it’s more than $75)? Bargain!

disturbia autumn winter line 2010

Remember a few months ago when I thought it was a good idea to start introducing a bit more horror and gore to HYA since there’s a market for it and some of you guys like that kind of thing? Well, it didn’t last too long simply because I forgot to put the effort in to posting that style, but Disturbia’s latest release (and new website) has reminded me that I need to get back on it. We all know there’s a conflict of interest in posting about brands that are loyal advertisers on HYA (I still have a spot or two available), but I feel that Disturbia are a cut above the rest when it comes to horror designs, and this latest line of t-shirts and hoodies shows no signs of them losing their touch.

I’ll let Michelle from TeeFury explain (again, this is lazy blogging because I’m on holiday at the moment):

It’s a huge overhaul of the look and coding, with a more streamlined interface and some neat additions to the function. Here are some of the coolest changes:

• Integration with Facebook Connect- plus a rad contest where we give a free tee to a handful of Facebook Connect users each day

• A new Submit section allows artists to quickly and easily enter their art into consideration for a future print

• New products! When checking out, you can add extra bonus products to your order- like the sticker pack we currently have available.

There’s also some other cool stuff, all of which is detailed in this forum post :)

KosherHam is looking swell

by Andy on June 5, 2009

I was really hoping to put a pork-based pun into that title, but I’m afraid my powers of punnery have eluded me, so I’m open to suggestions, because as is that title sucks.

A couple of weeks ago KosherHam added a bunch of new tees to their line-up, completely revamped their site to make it look even hotter than me on a night out (which is clearly no mean feat), and they’re also offering all of their designs on tote bags now, which I don’t find particularly exciting, but hey, they said good news comes in threes, and it just did. Spooky.

I Am The Trend gets more trendy

by Andy on March 15, 2009

It seems like lots of people are dropping new sites at the moment, maybe HYA needs a new lick of paint too? Gosh, maybe even an actual logo?

I Am The Trend‘s new site looks pretty damned sexy, here’s what’s changed:

Anyways we just relaunched our site complete with a ton of new features:
-Forum w/facebook connect
-Weekly Video Blog
-Free Swag
-More concentration on Music, Art, Products
-Guest Articles
-Larger product pictures

Check it out, hopefully this can propel IATT on greater things, I think that the indie clothing world needs a well-run directory (though it’s cool they’re covering music & art too), and they’re well on the way to coming through on that potential. Now, any chance we can do something about that ridiculous 2 star review of mine?

Local Celebrity have a new site!

by Andy on December 13, 2008

I think I can get away with re-posting a newsletter on a weekend, right?

GOOD NEWS! Our new website is finished!! It’s been a long time in the making and it’s still not 100% the way we want it, but it feels great to have it to this point. There are still some glitches that you might notice, but we’re working hard to get them all fixed so you can cruise around the site nice and easy.

One of the coolest new things about the new site is the A-List. Basically, it’s a way for us to hook up our loyal customers with lower costs and allow them to participate in contests, parties, or anything else we decide to do. If you plan on buying anything from us in the near future, you’ll definitely want to take 2 seconds and become an A-Lister so you can save some sweet cash.

Also on the website, we’re now offering our Kid’s clothing line, called Little Celebrity! If you have a kid or know some cool parents who appreciate cool clothes, you’ll win major brownie points with them when you show them Little Celebrity.

FFee Clothing have released eight new designs, shown above in the gallery, and redesigned their website, not shown above, but it does look really cool, they’ve got lots of hand-drawn text and illustrations mixed with photos, and… and… well, just go take a look yourself, its a treat for your eyes.

Their new packaging looks pretty gorgeous, so if you weren’t quite sure whether to make a purchase then that might be the tipping point for you.
