Starship Troopers t-shirt

When I first saw Starship Troopers I thought it was awesome because of all the guns and explosions, and even a couple of boobs here and there, but now that I’m an adult I realise that it’s actually a bit smarter than it’s often given credit for. $10 today at TeeFury.

This artwork really suits the black and white colourway and that place works nicely too. And good to see a brand called Brutali doing their photoshoot in a churchyard too!

Octopus Attacks Tokyo by Graniph [Review]

by Andy on April 28, 2009

Anyone remember when I pointed out this tee back in February and it was a total tease because it was sold out? Well, the situation has improved, but not by much. They must have reprinted it, but only size small is available for purchase at the moment, and considering that Graniph‘s sizes already run quite small anyway, it’s only going to be slim people wearing this pretty-darned-awesome t-shirt for the time being.

I said it back in February and I’ll say it again, this tee rocks, and I have no idea why, which is what I usually feel when I look at tees from Graniph, so I guess the love affair continues!

This tee was sent to me here in Philly, so it is a bit fresher in the memory than most of the reviews I’ve done over the past few months (though I sent it back with my brother last month, my suitcase is overweight as is), and as usual the quality level was superb, soft cotton, and I was really impressed with the colours in the print.

I can’t quite put my finger on why this t-shirt is awesome, but I am almost 100% certain that it is. In fact, it’s so great that I’m posting it even though it is sold out at the time of writing, knowing that I’m going to disappoint those of you that saw it and instantly knew you needed a t-shirt about an octopus attacking Tokyo in your lives. Sorry.

Costiness=JPY 2,500 (y’know, if you could buy it) Request a reprint at Graniph [Rumplo Link]

I’m really glad that this te doesn’t have a ‘real’ name, because it gave me the opportunity to give this post that utterly proposterous title which will surely result is some rather dodgy Google searches making their way to HYA.

Here’s a little blurb about the artist and when you can actually expect to see the tee:

Lotte Klaver’s drawings are characterized by simple lining and scarce use of India ink. A single ink blot becomes an innocent boy, a sensual woman or a pondering man. Maybe the drawings only look that way, or perhaps a deeper, darker truth exists beneath the surface. This uneasiness is what gives Lotte’s work its unique quality.

Lotte lives in Amsterdam and graduated from the Amsterdam School of Arts. Her drawings blog is www.lotteklaver.nl.

Orders accepted until December 1st. All tees are individually numbered and all orders will be printed December 1st. Expect delivery the second week of December.

So, you’ve got 8 days to get your orders in, then its gone.

Costiness=$30 Men’s Link/Women’s Link
