Post image for Shaun of the Dead, Science, and Mad Men meets Portal, new in at 604Republic

We’ve seen the Mad Men and Shaun of the Dead shirts before on daily sites in recent weeks, so it’s quite cool to see them finding a more permanent home at 604Republic. The ‘Science > Beliefs’ shirt I believe is original artwork and I really like it, it’s one of those shirts that is a little bit controversial, but you can’t really disagree with the sentiment. The new shirts are $21 a piece and available now.

T-shirt news for March 8th

arrested development t-shirt

Arrested Development makes an appearance at TeeFury today.

It’s a reprint day at RIPT with this Pokemon x Star Wars design.

Poirot makes an unexpected appearance at Qwertee.

Funny Portal t-shirt at Shirt.Woot.

Funny Skyrim t-shirt at Shirt Punch, nice style to it too, not sure whether I’d actually wear it though.

‘Vitruvian Prime’ makes an appearance at OtherTees.

Weird skull based design at Stupidhurts.us today.

I suspect we’ll be seeing quite a lot of these election tees this year, this Harry Potter take on the genre is pretty nice.

“I want you…. to” at 24tee.

I like the little splash of colour on this new tee at DBH.

This design at Made in the Now celebrates the Indian festival of Holi.

Tilteed have a study of turtles, and it’s adorable.

RockCandy have a Spring Sale going on with yp to 30% off.

TTG intverview Branded Baron and they have a giveaway for a couple of tees too.

TTG also report on the story of a girl walking into Tesco (the giant UK supermarket chain, £1 of every £8 spent in the UK is spent at Tescos) and finding her face on a sweatshirt in the clothing section. I like the way that in the photo she’s meant to look annoyed but you can tell she’s happy to be getting in the papers.

T-shirt News Roundup for January 16th

by Andy on January 16, 2012

mythbusters t-shirt

Dexter’s Laboratory meets Mythbusters in this shirt from Teefury.

Y’know, I’ve never seen Donnie Darko, judging by the amount of shirts about it, including this one from Qwertee, I probably should (lots of shirts usually = a good movie).

Shirt.Woot have a delightful 8-bit Ghostbusters design.

Strangely, RIPT also have a Ghostbusters shirt, though with a Muppets twist.

Glow in the dark shirt from The Yetee.

Nowhere Bad have a Portal inspired shirt.

OtherTees have a nice Sherlock design. Did anyone see the last episode of the current run last night? That show is so damn good.

24Tee are selling a familiar stormtrooper design.

TeeRaiders have a Firefly design that I didn’t need to Google to work out what it was.

Quite a pretty Twitter design from Stupidhurts.us.

GraphicLab have a Portal shirt on sale all this week.

Tee Mashups is closing, which is unfortunate, though at least they are being up front about things and are sending refunds to people that will not receive their shirts.

Star Wars comes to Shirt Punch today.

Not my kind of tee at DBH today, but interesting nevertheless.

Hey look, Tilteed are selling Greg Abbott’s lovely fox design again.

Glennz has turned five of his designs into iPhone wallpapers (may also work with other smartphones, I’m not sure).

Tony over at Wrongwroks has released a parka jacket in five different colours.

Perception Apparel have put three of their tees on sale for $10.

Halfcut Clothing have released a shirt to celebrate their involvement with the Blind Tiger Collective. Use coupon code hcc10 to get 10% off your order in their store.

The official press release for the Boston Tee Party has been released, it doesn’t cover much new ground but it’s nice to have it all be ‘official’.

Big Cartel let us know about some of their milestones in 2012, such as collective store sales of over $100,000,000 from their almost 200,000 stores.

Mighty Fine are running a competition with Marvel to find an amazing Avengers t-shirt design with the winner receiving up to $2,500.

Johnny Cupcakes has a couple of new tees, and a couple of new hats in his stores.

Here’s Rihanna wearing a Celine t-shirt that probably cost more than my whole outfit.

cthulu t-shirt

Am I the only person on the internet that doesn’t have an obsession with Cthulu? $10 at TeeFury.

Shirt.Woot are playing on the idea (I think) that Shakespeare didn’t write his own plays with this ‘Ghost Writer’ t-shirt.

There’s no pop culture reference in this RIPT design… I don’t know how to react, where’s the reference, WHERE’S THE REFERENCE!

OtherTees offer up a splattered Portal Companion Cube for the next few days.

And there’s your Doctor Who t-shirt for the day at Shirt Punch.

I’d like to see how this shirt at DBH prints, but I do love the artwork.

I don’t think this is the first time 24tee have posted a Big Lebowski tee, they must be fans.

Hey look, Loviu are selling that Joker design again.

Hey look, Tilteed are selling that weird shark fortress design again.

Made With Awesome are on Fab.com until Jan. 15th, the sale isn’t on the site yet, but it will be at some point today.

Do you like talking about tees, then talk about tees at teetalk next Wednesday, January 18th at 8pm EST. I doubt I’ll be involved since it starts at 1am UK time, by which time I’ll likely be tucked up in bed. More details at their Facebook page, and here’s a link to the chatroom.

Free shipping at laFraise when you spend 60€ or more, no coupon code required. laFraise also recently hired a new strawberry, Katinka, who will be running the German-language blog, as well as handling less fascinating things like admin and SEO.

Light Design in Spain have a sale on for their musically inspired t-shirts.

Simply Tap is a mobile shopping app, if you buy a MoreTvicar t-shirt with it (and it’s your first Simply Tap purchase) you’ll get £10 cashback. They also have a number of tees on sale from £4.99, which is pretty damn cheap.

Smashing Magazine have a good roundup of free fonts you may want to add to your design arsenal.

Daily T-shirt Roundup for January 9th

sloth goonies t-shirt

I’m not too excited by the Sloth & Crossbones Goonies shirt at TeeFury today, you?

Very cute illustration style on this Shirt.Woot tee, maybe this shirt will perk you up to stick with your New Year’s resolutions?

Not the kind of Star Wars t-shirt that I’d wear, but a pretty cool concept from RIPT nonetheless.

Can anyone explain to me why The Yetee are describing this felines as pizzacats?

Very cool Fantastic Mr. Fox inspired t-shirt at Shirt Punch today.

GraphicLab have a shirt that is a little lost on me, it’s a mashup of The Impossible Man from the Marvel universe and Magnitude from Community.

Star Trek inspired visual pun from TeeMinus24 today.

I’m fairly sure that this TeeRaiders design is the first Warehouse 13 shirt that I’ve seen.

Stupidhurts.us give this well worn phrase another run out.

OtherTees have a Doctor Who shirt that I’m sure I’ve seen before.

Qwertee make a connection between Portal and zombies.

We don’t have Fresca over here in the UK, so this 24tee shirt is wasted on me.

Cool new shirt at DBH today.

There’s a couple of new shirts up on pre-order at Goodjoe.

Loviu reiterate their ‘barbie is a slut’ stance.

Tilteed have their boomerang-based design up again.

Catch of the Day Tee have nothing for us, again.

Tee Gazette has an update on the Boston Tee Party event being held in the summer.

I saw this t-shirt on Flickr months ago and it’s taken me until now to remember to post it.

Co-Tee TV Episode 88: Moustardche, Javaboi Industries, and Hot Dogs from Coty Gonzales on Vimeo.

Coty has a new episode of Co-Tee TV up, featuring Moustardache, Javaboi Industries, and Hot Dogs.

The selection process may have been unscientific, but it’s nice to see HYA at the top (the position may or may not mean anything) of this list of the “21 Most Important t-shirt blogs of 2011.”

Tee Hunter take a look at the A Bathing Ape x Star Wars collection.

Fuel Your Creativity have an article about starting a clothing line with no money. It does make it all seems a little easy in my eyes, but there are worse stepping off points.

Here’s another t-shirt from PalmerCash I bookmarked ages ago but never got around to posting about.

2sickbastards have got up to 50% off their art prints until January 13th.

Snapback hats are now in store at Glamour Kills.

Did you know that howies was part of Timberland? I say was because as of the start of this year they bought themselves out and are now an independent business again.

Terratag‘s up to 50% off sale has hit it’s final week, ends on Friday.

my little pony pokemon t-shirt

I don’t really understand the crossover between My Little Pony and Pokemon, but I’m sure some of you will.

Having never watched Venture Bros I’m not particularly enamored with today’s shirt at RIPT.

Daily Tees & News Roundup for November 1st

by Andy on November 1, 2011

Zelda t-shirt

Zelda shirt from TeeFury today, nice style and colourway.

Another old design from Tilteed, they don’t seem to have released anything new for a while, I’ll drop them an e-mail to ask what is up.

It’s quite hard to tell from the image above, but the skull in this Stupidhurts.us shirt is made of kisses, thus the name ‘Long Kiss Goodnight.’

This tee from Shirt.Woot is surprisingly Anglo-centric, I didn’t know Americans knew the Guy Fawkes story.

Great Gremlins shirt from RIPT today.

OtherTees have a Portal gun sketch up for the next few days.

As someone who enjoys killing time with Angry Birds, I can appreciate this 24tee shirt.

Once again Barbie is a slut at Loviu.

I feel like the Mario image is a little bit awkward on this Catch of the Day Tee shirt, but I do still like the design overall, and I’m not sure how I’d prefer Mario to look, so it’s a bit of an unfair comment.

Japanese -inspired design from Shirt Punch. Man, I’d love to go back to Japan on another holiday.

Ugmonk have released a premium wooden ampersand (that holds itself to a stainless steel base with a super strong magnet) priced at $299 that makes me wish I knew how to use the very expensive CNC that we have in our workshop (for my other job). As someone who has been around wood for his entire life I feel that it is a bit pricey, but then I’m looking at it as a product rather than art, and with it being a limited first run of 15 pieces I can see how that has pushed up the price.

Neighborhood have released a new expensive t-shirt.

Today only you can get 20% off your order at Glamour Kills with the coupon code TRICKORTREAT.

New blogger on HYA Goodfibres have cut the price of their shirts to £15 until November 7th.

PalmerCash have 20 new shirts in stock, presumably these are two of them.

Storenvy are giving away two signed copies of the Thread’s Not Dead book. IATT have all the details, be sure to enter before November 4th.

Wrongwroks have had a big release in their webstore, not many tees so I didn’t think I should give them their own post.

And lastly, your daily reading for t-shirt store owners from Mashable, “How to Time Your Facebook Posts to Reach the Most Fans“.

doctor who portal t-shirt at teefury

‘Portal Who’ gotta love it when two popular geeky things collide on a t-shirt design. $10 today at TeeFury.

Definitely one of the better Shroedinger’s Cat t-shirts I’ve seen, well done Qwertee.

‘White Stripes’ is not a new design at Tilteed, but it’s good and it’s only $10 today, so that’s pretty cool.

Nice try, Shirt.Woot, but I’m still not going to wear Comic Sans.

Cool shirt from RIPT today, one for the Nintendo fans out there.

Vegetarian zombies, whatever next? TeeMinus24

‘Murder of Crows’ is on insaneetee at Uneetee, $14.99 instead of $24.99 today.

I didn’t understand this shirt originally (I think it must be an American phrase), but the back story is actually fairly interesting (it comes from slaves only working when their masters were around), check it out at 24tee.

I can’t decide if I’ve seen this Loviu shirt before, or if they’ve used the artist before and he has a consistent style, either way, nice shirt.

Daily Tee Roundup Sept. 26th

by Andy on September 26, 2011

lovecraft cthulu t-shirt

Very cool design from TeeFury today, and good to see Jimiyo making an appearance as the designer rather than the art directory for a change.

Apparently today’s RIPT shirt references Cowboy Bebop, which is presumably something else that I either really missed out on during my formative years or need to get into.

Wow, that’s an awful lot of time-traveling references on today’s tee at Shirt.Woot.

I needed the description to understand the reference on this shirt, anyone got it? It’s from Snatch, and whilst I liked the film this shirt isn’t really doing it for me, there are probably some films that don’t need a tribute tee. Good try though, The Yetee.

I didn’t forget about GraphicLab! I had no excuse though since they sent me an e-mail about this weeks design. It’s pretty cool that they gave ‘Tardis Prime’ a Sonic Screwdriver for a weapon.

I think an error has been made with the promo image, but it’s stll clear that today’s shirt from Loviu is an absolute beauty.

I’m really glad that I’m needing to rag on TeeMinus24 less now, I think they still have some way to go, but they are improving and you’ve got to respect that.

Star Wars AND The Big Lebowski, fairly play Qwertee, you’re covering all the bases today.

Ahhh, now that’s a generic looking rock music t-shirt from Stupidhurts.us. It’s cool and I’d wear it, but you guys know what I mean.

Oh, so ‘reworked Disney logo’ is a trend now? OtherTees

guns 'n' portals parody t-shirt

It’s funny how you get certain kinds of designer naturally gravitate towards different POD sites, parodies tend to end up on RedBubble, cool arty t-shirts go to MySoti, and people that aren’t designers go to Cafepress. (your insults in the comments, please)

Rob posted this re-imagining of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ that I thought was pretty fun:

Welcome to the Center [Johnson/Wheatley Remix]

Welcome to the Center
We got cake ‘n’ tests
We got Companion Cubes you want
And Lemons, you know the rest

We’re the AI that can see
Wherever you may be
If you see the turrets honey
Say goodbye to your knees

portal t-shirt

Qwertee have called this shirt ‘I love science’ which I presume is because they don’t want the possibility of any law-related hassles, even though it is very obvious what they were going for with the design. Is it just me or is that kern a little bit tight on ‘science’?

£8 today and tomorrow at Qwertee.

Haynes manual style designs are always a bit of fun, especially when they’re referencing something very futuristic like a gun from Portal.

portal t-shirt

I put that little bit at the end of the title so that people on Twitter didn’t click on the link and get their hopes up expecting to see a massive list of Portal tees. With it being Portal of course, I could just do the first ten then use a portal to take me straight to the hundredth tee.

Best Tshirts Ever (who seem to be setting themselves up for a lot of hard work with that name), have put together a list of some cool Portal tees, some of which have appeared on HYA, some of which haven’t, so why not hop over there and check it out.

Yup, I’m still trying to ride that wave of Portal 2 excitement, though this is a fairly cool t-shirt, even if I can’t quite work out why the graphic has been placed where it has, and why the graphic isn’t bigger.

Portal 2 t-shirt by Ian Leino at TeeFury

by Andy on April 19, 2011

portal 2 t-shirt

I can only imagine that it was a complete coincidence that this t-shirt went up on TeeFury today…

I gave Portal a go late last year when it was free on Steam, and I didn’t finish it, but I had a lot of fun for a few hours playing it. It’s a really interesting game, if you’re after something that tests your mind more than your trigger finger then it’s definitely worth taking a look at. I don’t know if you need to have played the original Portal to enjoy the new version that was released today, but it might help for the background to the story. This is a tee blog though, I’m sure that there are better places to get gaming insight.

If you understand the reference in this tee, then I’m sure you’ll like it (and that’s no lie!), which is why I’m not really going to mention the shirt in this post (what do you think this is? A t-shirt blog!?). As usual design supremo Ian Leino is going all out on his promotion efforts. The tee is for sale today on TeeFury, and it is also available at his own shop (though it is more expensive than the TeeFury version) and will remain there, so if you’ve seen this post too late for the TeeFury version but really, really like the tee then you have nothing to fear, you’ll probably still able to get it. Ian is also giving away temporary tattoos of the design on his Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook pages, which is pretty ,cool, head over to his blog to find out all about that.

109 I love NY style t-shirts for you to love

by Andy on December 14, 2009

109

After the success and popularity of my previous list posts such at the 202 Star Wars t-shirts and robot lists (and of course the ridiculously meta list of t-shirt lists), I started saving up links of tees that fit into various categories, but there’s no point me just saving them up indefinitely, so it’s about time I started posting all these lists, most of them don’t quite breach the lofty barrier of more than 100 items in a list, but as they say, it’s not the size, it’s the amount of time Andy spent thinking up the metaphor.

As fasr as t-shirts go, few are more iconic than the design Milton Glaser created to help promote New York (the state, not just the city) back in the 70s. That design has gone on to be used in hundreds of different ways and become part of American pop culture, so it’s hardly surprising that the style has found it’s way onto more than a few t-shirts.

As ever with my list posts, THEY ARE NOT IN ANY RANKED ORDER, the numbers are merely there to keep track of the amount of tees in the list. I say this every time and no one seems to listen, it’s as if you skip the intro and move straight on to all the tees! Also, there are some affiliate linked shirts in there, so it’s possible I will earn money from people buying certain t-shirts on this list, but as I’ve listed just about as many as I could find, it’s hardly surprising that some of the companies have affiliate programmes. Some of the tees in the list are sold out already, and depending upon the success of this post some of them could become sold out in the future, but they could also be reprinted, so in many ways these tees are like Schroedinger’s cat before you click on the link. The list has been split into two pages to make things a little bit easier on my server, but please click through to the second page, because some of my favourites are on there and I think the list finishes pretty strongly, so they’re all worth checking out.

As ever, any exposure you can give to the list (stumble, tweet, delicious bookmark, blog post, digg, ill-considered full-back tattoo) will be greatly appreciated, and I’ll write up a thank you post with links back to everyone that helped in a couple of weeks. Now let’s go love some t-shirts!
