rakes & strays October Mini-collection

This is actually old news, ten days old to be precise, but I haven’t seen any other tee blogs picking up ther story, proably because the price of £30 per tee is a bit of a hard sell when most blog readers are American (in my case at least), but they are still really nice looking shirts and unless there’s been a drastic change in their stock, a really well made one too.

Sales, coupons, and competitions!

terratag sale

After taking a couple off posting days to send out e-mails promoting the typography t-shirt list (please, please, please keep sharing it with your friends, I need your help!) I thought I’d better get back in the swing of things, and it turns out I’m addicted to writing lists this week, because instead of putting out lots of individual posts about the various sales and offers going on at the moment I’m just going to put them all together in one big post. On another note, but as I seem to be rounding up new here I’ll include it, I’m on the hunt for a female model for the HYA tee (I’m working on the assumption that you ladies aren’t buying it because you don’t know what it will look like being worn by a woman), I can’t offer pay since it’s not really a clothing line, but I will send a free shirt to someone that can send me back some cool photos of them wearing it, e-mail me if you’re interested.

Terratag are clearing out their Spring/Summer line and that means they’ve got tees as low as £10 and a load of other goodies at low prices too.

Badashell Clothing are also running and end of summer sale, and looking at the state of the weather outside my window, it is most definitely the end of summer. Just about all of their tees are $10-$12, which is pretty darned good.

Use the coupon code HIDEYOURARMS to get 25% off your order at Milk & Eggs Co.

Use the coupon code promo 15 to get 15% off at Red Fox Tees.

Altru Apparel are giving away a couple of t-shirts on their facebook page, all you have to do is tell them which of their tees is your favourite and why, best two answers (one guy, one girl) will win a t-shirt. The competition ends September 5th.

That promo picture is a little bit naughty because as far as I can tell there’s only one tee left hitting that magic 70% off mark (though to be fair, they may have sold out of the others at that disount), but Rakes & Strays makes some really high quality t-shirts, so it’s fardly surprising that there aren’t bargain-basement prices around.

I’m not really a fan of their designs, but CHOU store are now offering free shipping, no matter how much you order or where you live.

the quiet life sale

Sale on at The Quiet Life: It’s a clearout to make room for their Spring Line, “sale includes: tshirts / hoodies / sweaters / hats / bags & more.”

10% off everything at Regan Smith Clarke from now until 12pm (Eastern) on April 19th. Over the weekend Regan will be doing other offers on Twitter which could give you up to 50% off his YASLY designed tees.

Dadawan, who appear to have dropped that whole Nukod thing, are 6 years old, and celebrating by giving you 20% off anything on their site with the coupon code DADA20. As if 20% off wasn’t good enough, there’s also free shipping all over the world.

Free posting at Rakes & Strays and EIO Clothing until April 21st. Offer open to UK orders only, sorry international peeps.

I’ve never heard of Sutsu before, but their sale has 40% off so that can’t be a bad thing. It is an Easter sale and I personally am almost out of chocolate eggs so who know how long this will last. [via TeeHunter]

If you want horror, Havok‘s got horror. They’ve also got a 70% off couple code, TAX, making their shirts $6, which is just ridiculous.

A guy I know has made a forum for tee fans that went literally went live about 20 minutes ago. As such, Tee Banter has very little content, threads or members, pop over, register and says something so that Simeon doesn’t feel lonely.

I know I already mentioned it, but Randr‘s Spring Sale is still going on, use the coupon code cleaners for an additional 10% off.

And lastly for this ridiculous roundup, get 10% off your order at Vicious History (who I’ve really been meaning to mention) with the coupon code

Post image for Up to 50% off in the Rakes & Strays End of Season Sale

No word on when it will be ending so enjoy the Rakes & Strays up to 50% off end of season sale while it lasts.

This is likely to be the last deals post of the year because I’m taking Mrs. HYA (we aren’t actually married, but saying ‘my girlfriend’ doesn’t sound quite as fun) to London for the weekend, and tomorrow is looking like it’s going to be a busy one in terms of non-fun non-tee related activity, and then there’s not much point posting next week because of Christmas jollity and friends coming back to the area for the festive season, though if something big comes up then I’ll try and let you know.

So, 20% off at PalmerCash today and tomorrow with the coupon code yeah.

It’s sale time at krudmart, with a nigh-on-ridiculous 70% off the older stock, and a rather more sensible though still greatly appreciated 20% off new arrivals (providing you spend more than $75).

The Threadless festive fun continues with $10 tees for the rest of the week (and if you want them to get even cheaper remember that me and Adam from Tee Directory are selling Threadless Gift Certificates on the cheap, also, and this is seriously the first time I’ve realised this, gift certificates could make good gifts for Christmas!).

I don’t mention Junky Tees very often but they do have some wearable tees that you’d probably enjoy paying 25% less for with the coupon code XMAS.

Not holiday related but money off is money off, Dressed By Danni (the halterneck hoodie People) launched a new website recently and if you’re making your first order you can receive a 10% discount with the coupon code FIRST10.

30% off sitewide at Karmaloop with the coupon code HAL30, or the code ZUUL30. Is there really any reason why Karmaloop have so many coupons, and not just at this time of year, it feels like they drop a new one every day.

Kind of an odd offer from DBH, instead of going site-wide they’re putting 3 tees a day on sale, but they’re going lower than usual and those three tees can be picked up for $10 a piece. This deal will be running until Christmas Day, so keep checking back to see if any of your favourite designs come up on sale.

Pyknic Clothing - Come in and smell the shirts._1260998380297

Pyknic have got a 20% off sale going on until tomorrow, eat up!

Paper Root Clothing:

We’re running our final big sale of the year with some real craziness. 40% everything for the next three days, and that includes our newest sweatshirts we just released.

I really wish I didn’t have to post this, but unfortunately Squishi’s tees are all on sale for £9.99 each. You’re probably thinking that Squishi’s tees being on a sale would be a good thing, but you’d be wrong, as they’re on sale because Squishi are going to be closing down when all the stock is gone. That sucks, because I was glad there was someone like Squishi around in Britain, but at least they’re closing because the print side of the business is going well, which will hopefully mean that Brit companies have an alternative to outsourcing to America to get their shirts printed.

It won’t sound like a sale to our American chums but in British terms this is a sale. Strange Ways have knocked their tees (all three shown above) down to £15, with £1 shipping in the UK, £2 worldwide, try beating that on the high street!

Vig Tees - Funny T-Shirts - Cool Vintage T-Shirts Unique Graphic T-Shirts_1260999669216

As you can see from that image, free shipping ANYWHERE ON EARTH when you buy 2 or more tees from Vig Tees. Sounds good, but the martians are gonna be pissed.

The e-mail from Bean Dip had the subject “Free Shipping // New Tees”, so I presume they’re offering free shipping. I know, it’s like I’m Sherlock Holmes or something.

This coupon from No Star will be expiring tomorrow, so hop to it.

Get 10% off at wiftees with the coupon code hideyourarms.

My favourite food blog, Serious Eats, have released a list of tees for foodies. Well, I wouldn’t call it a list because it’s only got 11 items on it, to me it’s not really a list unless you question the will to live whilst putting it together and then realising it probably wasn’t worth it since it wasn’t about Star Wars (me? bitter?).

PopJunkie and their weird lapdancing clip-art are going to keep their sale going until the end of the year, so no need to rush then!

EIO and Rakes & Strays are going to be turning their regular postage into Special Delivery in the UK from now until December 23rd so that y’all will be getting your tees to your loved ones in time for Chrimbo.

Monstar (who seem to mostly be a belt company now) have got all their tees onsale for $10 at th moment with a flat rate of $4 shipping.

Here’s the Winter Range from Rakes & Strays

I thought I’d already written about this… I wrong wrong. Another good-looking range, from this “vagabond sibling” of EIO Clothing.

Last few days of the Rakes & Strays sale

by Andy on November 24, 2009

Rakes & Strays™ - Mens & Womens - Fashion & Clothing - Art Inspired Fashion._1258970081161

Somehow I missed this earlier, but there’s still at least one day of sales left at Rakes & Strays. When looking at the prices you might not think that there’s a huge sale going on, but please remember that they’re a premium brand, and they’re definitely premium quality.

It has been a little while since the last review on HYA, and this tee from Rakes & Strays is certainly worthy of bringing back this once-regular feature, especially as I think this might be the first ever tee I’ve received that has been panel printed. If you’re unfamiliar with Rakes & Strays, they’re a new brand from EIO Clothing, so the quality that you expected from EIO, you should expect from Rakes & Strays. You can essentially view them as the same company, they share a website, but I can understand why the two lines have been split as they two collections hold very different styles of tee, even if this particular shirt has the EIO logo on it, and some design elements on it from other EIO tees I’ve been sent in the past. So, in summary, they’re different, but the same, but they’re both good so there’s no point worrying about it.

Usually when people think of tattoo designs they’ll think of Ed Hardy, which isn’t necessarily a good thing (if you want tattoo style, I’d point you in the direction of Sailor Jerry, and not just because they make good rum), but tattoos are a ripe area for creating great t-shirt designs, and whilst I’m no expert on tattoos, I think that this tee works well. As I mentioned earlier this tee has some elements on it from tees I have been sent from EIO Clothing in the past. As a concept I presumed that wouldn’t like it, but I think that it makes a lot of sense for this design because tattoos are meant to be something meaningful, and this tee represents how EIO (and now R&S) are progressing as a company, but they’re still sticking true to the qualities about them that I liked so much in the past. Perhaps I’m over-analysing the design, maybe I should have just said “hey, that look cool, and there’s guns on it” and moved on.

In terms of quality, whether you call it EIO or Rakes & Strays this is a damn good shirt, as the closeups in the gallery will attest. The material is quite thin, but it is very soft. I’m not entirely sure what kind of printing method has been used, but I would be tempted to say that it was discharge because you cannot feel the print at all, which is obviously a good thing. If my previous experience with EIO tees is anything t ogo by, you can expect this tee to wear well, by which I mean it will survive being washed an worn pretty frequently, though I imagine that if it were to fade eventually then that would be less of a big deal than with a normal print because tattoo designs usually gain something with a bit of vintage-style fade on them. The hems of the tee d have what they call a ‘raw edge’ to them, which basically means that they have been cut to split the him and distress it a little bit; I’m not a huge fan of this process because I don’t really see what it adds to the t-shirt as it is a subtle change, but as it is a subtle change it doesn’t detract from what is an excellent t-shirt.

Dandelions by Rakes & Strays

by Andy on September 8, 2009

Rakes & Strays™ - Dandelions - Mens - Rakes and Strays represents a sympathy with the past; of tailored garments, distressed materials and hand-drawn and painted works of art_1252338505018

I think I might have fallen a little bit in love with Rakes & Strays, the new sister brand to EIO Clothing. They’ve got some of the most beautiful photo tees I’ve ever seen ever, ever, and because I know the EIO crew are behind it, I know the quality is going to be up there with the best of them. If Dandelions aren’t really your thing but you’re still after a photo tee, may I recommend Heavens Below, are pretty much anything else in their shop. Some designs are also available with a V-neck for those of you with bodies chiseled from granite, and all the designs are available in sizes for the ladies.

Costiness=£29.95 Available from Rakes & Strays (damn, I’ve just noticed it’s sold out in all but size small, but make sure you click through and check out some other designs)
