Sure, this is off-topic, but it’s my blog and I’ll do what I want.

My other website, a camera accessories site called Rigu is holding a little competition, and I would love it if you would enter. The competition runs from now until Friday at midnight and to enter all you have to do is follow @RiguPhoto on Twitter and send out the following tweet:

RT @RiguPhoto: Follow & RT this message before Dec. 16th to win a £10 camera accessories voucher. http://rigu.co.uk #competition

That’s all there is to it, the winner will be notified before the end of the weekend. Why are you still here? Go, tweet!

teefury grab bag

Usually I think that mystery tees/grab bags are a bit of a waste of time, but in this instance I’m willing to be less cynical and accept that it’s a great way to pick up some shirts for friends & family at Christmas, pick up a couple of shirts in each size (you can order up to 12 per size) and if something turns up you like keep it for yourself, if not give it to a family member!

I really, really like this Hokkusai-based t-shirt design at RIPT today, absolutely fantastic.

All the bacon and eggs! Shirt.Woot.

Daily Tees & News for December 1st

by Andy on December 1, 2011

teefury reported attack page

Welcome to December. Naturally a lot of brands will be focusing on making sales during the run up to Christmas, and I suspect we’ll see a lot of coupon codes and discounts revolving around that, so the news portion of these roundups will likely grow. These roundups do take quite a lot of time, so if you like it, share it please!

When I try to visit TeeFury Firefox comes up with this. Now, I am 100% confident that Teefury has not been an elaborate phishing scam from the beginning, but after checking out their Facebook page it seems a lot of people have also had this message come up, so I feel that their site may have been compromised in some way. This happened to HYA once and it was hell getting it fixed as someone that doesn’t have much technical expertise, hopefully they will have it sorted soon and it doesn’t cause too many headaches, but I recommend anyone who has visited in the past few days to run a virus scan. There has been no response that I can see from Teefury as of yet.

Quite a clever shirt from Qwertee today, showing fictional books based on movies such as Ghostbusters and Back To The Future.

There’s a lot of excitement over at RIPT for this Star Wars x Transformers mashup.

Daily Tee & News Roundup for November 23rd

by Andy on November 23, 2011

star trek t-shirt

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s amazing that there aren’t more Star Trek t-shirts around. $10 today at TeeFury.

I like the name of this shirt, ‘Vinyl Frontier,’ almost as much as I like the design. $10 today at Tilteed.

Very nice Doctor Who t-shirt from Nowhere Bad today.

I’m not sure if this shirt at Stupidhurts.us is a Deadmau5 reference or not, but I like it.

Not my favourite Shirt.Woot design ever but it definitely fits with their style.

I’m fairly sure there are a lot of people that would like this RIPT version of Battlestar Battleship to be a real thing.

Awesome shirt at The Yetee today, who would have thought that “Star Wars x crappy Christmas sweaters” would be such a good concept for a design?

And here I was thinking that all the “people whose names are also a state” had been done, well done 24tee.

TeeRaiders are dropping a Firefly design today.

Loviu really liked The Dark Knight, presumably.

Catch of the Day Tee provide us with our second Doctor Who shirt for Wednesday.

Shirt Punch seem to be the only company that have realised The Muppets are really popular at the moment.

Very pretty design from DBH today.

Let me remind you that Rigu is a thing I launched last week and it would be brilliant if you could check it out.

Glennz has released a desktop calendar for 2012 featuring some of his favourite designs.

80sTees satisfy my thirst for Seinfeld t-shirts with this George Costanza ‘Professional Hand Model’ tee. for $22.

Monsieur Steve is offering 20% off in his store today only with the coupon code onlytoday, though you do have to spend €70 to qualify for the saving.

PLNDR have up to 55% off goods from Mishka NYC.

A few months back on I Am The Trend Monique from Antisparkle featured “3 Affordable and Creative Branded Packaging Ideas” that I’m sure store owners will want to take a look at.

I didn’t mean for this to turn into a daily roundup for store owner resources, but I’ve been finding some good stuff recently, here’s “Five Copywriting Errors That Can Ruin A Company’s Website” from Smashing Magazine.

Mashable have 7 Tips to Make Your Blog Stickier. A lot of shirt brands have a blog that this info can apply to, but it’s important to note that a lot of the tips apply to non-blog content too.

Kissmetrics have a super guide to marketing using Twitter, and also a post with a guy claiming to have a 2% bounce rate which if you know your bounce rates you know is astoundingly low.

I Am The Trend’s Black Friday List is up and it has more than 80 brands on it, crazy! My initial list will be up in a few hours.

Daily News & Tee Roundup for November 21st

by Andy on November 21, 2011

warwick davis t-shirt

I’ve had a change of tack today and I’m putting Shirt Punch at the top of the roundup because today their designer is not by a normal t-shirt artist, it’s by sophisticated dwarf about town Warwick Davis of Star Wars (and currently ‘Life’s too Short’) fame. I know that his new show has gotten a lot of negative press for exploiting short people, but I don’t think he’d be in the show if he didn’t think it was right for him. Nice to see Philip Schofield in the sideart section!

I watched the first episode of The Walking Dead (season 2) at the weekend so I think this TeeFury shirt is pretty dang cool.

Qwertee, or at least someone, has sold this ‘Joy of Death’ shirt before, I’m sure of it.

Very sweet design by BootsBoots at Tilteed today, and whilst it isn’t new to the site, it is new to me.

Nowhere Bad are referencing Iocane Powder from the Princess Bride again.

Seems like this camera t-shirts from Stupidhurts.us provides yet another lovely opportunity to mention my new camera accessories site, Rigu.

Rare that you see Shakespeare quoted on a t-shirt, but Shirt.Woot have pulled it off.

It’s also rare to see RIPT re-using designs, but that is the case with this Tardis/Union Jack t-shirt.

The Yetee give some love to a pair of Ninja Turtles characters that don’t often get a look in when it comes to t-shirts.

I’ve never seen the Slap Bet episode of How I Met Your Mother, but it’s cool the way that they bring it in during later episodes, I like the way that HIMYM has a lot more callbacks than most shows. TeeMinus24.

Random shirts on sale at OtherTees for the next 4 days.

I don’t really understand what this Crane Jackson thing is all about at 24tee today. I’ve found a strange Facebook page that might be a real theatre, and that Crane Jackson was a real person, but I still don’t quite get it. The mystery is quite fun though.

Today at TeeRaiders they’re celebrating a show called Once Upon a Time that’s only been on the air for a month on ABC in the US, I can’t decide if that’s brilliant or terrible.

GraphicLab have a shirt this week that combines Nintendo’s famous Power Glove with Thanos from the Marvel universe.

Really cool design from Loviu today.

2nd design has been made available from Tshirt Contest, this one is all about how delicious meat is.

Not really my kind of shirt at DBH today.

Someone on Instructables has made a fun looking shirt with LEDs in it.

Wrongwroks will be releasing this hoodie today, I really like the contrast detail on the zip and hood.

Springleap have teamed up with Marmite for a design competition.

PLNDR have more ridiculous prices in their bargain bin today.

Get $25 off with the coupon code 25X8TN at 80s Purple when you spend $80 or more (and there’s free shipping if you spend $99 or more).

Sturban Clothing have started selling Quilted Jackets by SeventySeven.

This guy called Jack got in touch to let me know about his site, and whilst the tees aren’t really my style, I thought you guys might like his stuff, and he seems very likeable in spite of the odd choice of creating a website that is 300 pixels wide.

Chris Kawagiwa, who recently had a few designs printed over at Might Fine, sent me an e-mail that pointed me towards a concept & process video for one of his steampink Star Wars designs. It’s really cool to watch it come together from pen & paper to the finished tee.

RadCakes have released three new shirts that I don’t particularly care for, perhaps you do.

Daily Tees & News Roundup for November 18th

by Andy on November 18, 2011

USB Flash t-shirt

Sorry that the roundup is so late today, I had to go and pick up my cousin at the airport, and the airport is kind of far away.

Does anyone really like USB flash drives enough to buy this shirt from TeeFury.

dreamer camera strap

I’ve been talking about this new project quite openly on Twitter and Facebook over the past month or so, but things never really feel official until I’ve talked about them here on the main blog. Hide Your Arms is my passion, and it’s practically my job too, but when I say practically a job I mean that it doesn’t generate enough income to maintain my expensive lifestyle of eating one takeaway a week and swimming in cold lakes. Fortunately I like more than just t-shirts, so I thought it was time to do something else, and that’s where Rigu comes in.

Have you ever noticed that no matter what your camera looks like, the things that come with it tend to be grey or black or generally boring? I have, I have a white DSLR, clearly it’s a cry for attention, but looking at it made me wonder why there weren’t people out there selling colourful and interesting accessories for cameras. Why do we all accept that there are millions of t-shirts out there to suit your style but we have to stick with what Canon or Nikon put in the box as an afterthought?

So instead of thinking about it I did something about it, and I’ve opened a shop selling cool and colourful camera straps and a few other accessories. The selection isn’t massive at the moment but will be steadily growing over the next few months. In time I hope that Rigu will be able to offer straps and camera bags that have been designed in collaboration with artists. That’s something that’s never been done before (as far a I know), and I am looking into making it happen, it sure is exciting to be a pioneer.

I don’t want to go on about it too much but if you have questions then you know how to get in touch with me (contact form, Twitter, Facebook, e-mail, comments on this post). I of course would love to receive any and all comments about this new venture of mine, I want/need it to be big, and to do that I will be needing help and support from others. Take a look around and let me know what you think. Please note that in spite of opening this shop HYA should not be effected too much, I still intend to post just as much as usual, I believe that I can balance the two.

Check out the main shop at Rigu.
Find it on Twitter.
Like it on Facebook.
Rigu is also sharing cool photos and news on Tumblr.
