Daily Tees & News for December 2nd

by Andy on December 2, 2011

teefury highlander t-shirt

When I opened all the daily sites today (21 tabs, Firefox doesn’t care for that much) I wondered whether I’d actually get to see the TeeFury site. Thankfully it turned up, so any possible malware that may have existed yesterday appears to have been removed and all is right with the world again. I remain disappointed by the response from TeeFury about the issue, it took them at least 13 hours to acknowledge any kind of problem (done by their Facebook page), and they only wrote about it after the warning message had been removed. They posted this message on Twitter at the same time as the Facebook message: “If you had trouble reaching http://teefury.com earlier, try now! We’ve addressed the issue that was causing problems: http://ow.ly/7LyK8″ That link now goes to a 404 page. Frankly, that is not good enough, if you might be exposing your fans to malware via your site you have to tell people by every avenue about the issue and warn them as soon as possible, not when you’ve fixed the problem, and you should make some kind of mention of it when you send out a newsletter that day (presumably to thousands of people). I still like TeeFury and will continue to write about them, but I do not like the way they dealt with this situation.

Daily Tees & News for November 29th

by Andy on November 29, 2011

night of the living dead t-shirt

Very cool Night of the Living Dead shirt from TeeFury today.

Here’s another Firefly design I don’t understand at Qwertee, and I’m all the more confused because it is a Jurassic Park mashup too.

Song Bird makes another appearance at Tilteed.

Good use of negative space from Stupidhurts.us today.

Nice take on the old proverb from Shirt.Woot.

I guess that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles must be popular again since there is a definite rise in the amount of TMNT shirts I’ve been seeing recently, and I’m not exactly hunting them out. From $10 at RIPT.

I previously featured this shirt a couple of weeks ago when it was on RedBubble, but now it has made it’s way over to The Yetee for the next few days.

I haven’t seen Machete but this parody shirt from OtherTees still makes me laugh.

How depressed does Snuffaluffagus look? 24tee.

As a big Community fan I am very pleased to see this ‘Troy & Abed in the morning’ shirt up at TeeRaiders.

The infinite Swiss army knife makes a return to Loviu.

Nice to see a Zoidberg/Futurama shirt on Shirt Punch today.

I think I’d probably like this latest DBH shirt if it didn’t have the sea turtle on it, but it’s still wearable nevertheless.

Don’t worry, it’s cool to be a nerd now! $11 down from $20 at BustedTees today.

The Cool Hunting gift guide is now live.

I Am The Trend have an excellent post introducing Grave Takers, a new brand from Kyle Crawford of Electric Zombie fame.

RUReppin found some useful articles for t-shirt designers.

Two new shirts from RUReppin

by Andy on November 25, 2011

A couple of nice new shirts from RUReppin. I prefer the busier design to the pun based “Royally Screw’d”, though I must admit that I smiled when I put the name together with the design.

Shirt Punch Launches
Shirt Punch Launches by R U Reppin’
While we have seen the pace slow down on t-shirt-a-day sites popping up, there are still new entries into the space. R U Reppin’ announces the latest launch with Shirt Punch. The difference here is this site has a very strong following of talented designers known as The Red Bubble Club. It’s also got a pretty cool new feature that allows users to see the upcoming, unreleased shirts as well as the current shirt. Nice!

Picking the Right Color Palette
How to Pick a Color Palette at Naldz Graphics
Hats off to Naldz Graphics for bringing us an in-depth look on how to pick the correct colors for your design. The color selection phase of creating a new design can be one of the most important steps. As the article points out there are quite a few important factors to consider when choosing the correct colors for your design including contrast, client needs and resources to work with.

Threadbird Introduces Foalio
The Launch of Foalio by Threadbird
Threadbird is very popular in the t-shirt printing world as the preferred vendor of Storenvy; however, they’ve just upped the ante even more by introducing a new site called Foalio. Foalio allows those seeking artists to posts listings – for free! No more eating into the design budget by having to pay for ads. It also helps artists find work by notifying them when jobs are posted in their field. It’s a win-win situation.

So there you have it, another round of cool developments in the t-shirt related blogging world. We’ll have our ears to the keyboard listening for more t-shirt news and blog posts coming in the future. Feel free to contact us @youdesignit if you would like to be featured next time.

This t shirt blog roundup was a guest post authored by Blake from You Design It where they love all things t-shirts.

Design competition RUReppin has been running for 6 months now, and they’ve decided to mark that mini-anniversary with a wekk long t-shirt sale. Until Monday, October 3rd, all shirts in the store will be $11.97, which I think might be about 50% off the regular price, I can’t remember what they were last week when I looked.

“Done with Problems” new t-shirt at RUReppin

by Andy on September 22, 2011

rureppin t-shirt

When it comes to design competitions it’s a fairly good bet that Mathiole will come along and get a winner every so often, and that’s hardly a surprise because the man has a lot of skills, as he demonstrates once again with this shirt for RUReppin. By the way, did you see Dee’s review of their tees? that lady sure knows how to do a good review, I’ll be making sure she gets sent more tees in the future.

RUReppin are currently looking for a blogger at the moment as well, so if you are interested be sure to get in touch with them.
