Margin London Preview

by Margin London on February 4, 2013

Regular Hide Your Arms readers will have spotted our recent posts highlighting a few of the brands exhibiting at Margin London on the 10th & 11th February.

With just six days to go until the show opens to buyers and press, here’s a preview of some more of the labels making their tradeshow debut at the exhibition.

We thought we’d better not post any more in-depth profiles otherwise the Hide Your Arms crew wouldn’t have any exclusives to report on when they visit the show!

Here are some images to whet the appetite and look forward to the Hide Your Arms reports after the show.

For information about exhibiting at or visiting Margin, get in touch via the website.

LATIN LOVER, a new t-shirt label from Columbia for men & women, with great illustrations & graphics:

OURS at Margin London

by Margin London on February 1, 2013

Ours at Margin London
Fresh from California comes this new range of menswear by Ours. With tailoring alongside premium streetwear, the range should appeal to a wide range of men looking for quality relaxed clothing.

Blending 1980?s Caribbean influences with New England tailoring, Ours could be summed up as “Island Prep”. The range of laidback surf-inspired menswear consists of a full roster of clothing including shirts, trousers, shorts, caps, vests, and unique illustrated tees.

As Hide Your Arms is all about the tees, we’re featuring images of Ours’ t-shirts, but you can see more images with the clothing at their website.

We love the beach-inspired hand-drawn illustrations coupled with text and retro imagery simply coloured in.

Ours at Margin London

Following their debut at Agenda in Long Beach, Ours will be making their European debut in February 2013. Margin London is the only show in Europe to see this first season by new Californian brand Ours when their European distributors, Boy Parker, exhibit the range.

Renowned amongst key buyers and press as the launchpad for new brands, Margin has been providing an affordable platform for new brands since 2002 and will be the only trade exhibition across Europe to see the range of bags in person.

Ours at Margin London

Since the exhibitions first started back in 2002, Margin can lay claim to providing the UK launching point of overseas brands such as Upper Playground, Diamond Supply Co, Stereo Sound Agency, Double Goose, Loreak Mendian, Syndrome, Nooka, Mimobots, Qwstion, Hixsept (now Etudes Studio), and many others, who all made their European or UK trade debuts at Margin, which celebrated 10 years of exhibitions in 2012.

Ours will be exhibiting at Margin in February 2013 which takes place on the 10th & 11th, and you can find OursBoy Parker, and Margin on Facebook.

Skullb by Doe Eyed

by billpyle on January 7, 2013

I really love this design by Doe Eyed Design and Print Shop. Its clever and well executed, as is the majority of their work.

It is only $15 and is printed on American Apparel tees. It also comes in a variety of colors, but in a limited amount of each.

50+ Hunger Games T-shirts

by Andy on March 26, 2012

50+ hunger games t-shirts

The Hunger Games was one of the most anticipated movies of the year with some people describing it as ‘the new Twilight’ (in terms of popularity, and it opened this weekend at cinemas across the US to take in $150+ million in ticket sales, for the 3rd biggest opening weekend of all time(!). I know that the books are aimed at people slightly younger than me (I’ve taken seeing 16-18 year old girls reading it as a sign it may not be a book for me), but the movie certainly looks a lot more appealing than the Twilight series, and I’m definitely going to be checking it out.

I’ve seen and written about quite a few Hunger Games t-shirts in the daily roundup posts over the past few months so I thought I’d put together a nice and epic list of tees for you all to enjoy. With Hunger Games being a fairly new phenomenon I’ve found that a lot of the usual players haven’t yet caught onto it’s popularity, leaving the print-on-demand sites, most notably RedBubble (even though they have been removing copyright infringing designs lately), to lead the way in terms of apparel for fans of the series. I’m sure this situation will change in time and more brands will release Hunger Games t-shirts, and when they do I will try and update this list.

As ever with these lists, they do take quite a lot of time, so if you could be so kind as to share them with your buddies via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or any other medium that would be truly fantastic. Enjoy!

If you enjoyed the list please do share it around and let people know about it, or leave a comment, and if you know a good tee that I’ve missed from the list be sure to let me know about it in the comments, or via Twitter or Facebook.

T-shirt news for January 26th

by Andy on January 26, 2012

star wars argyle t-shirt

Very nice argyle Star Wars t-shirt today at TeeFury.

Seems to me like this is the kind of design that Shirt.Woot should have been selling in the run up to Christmas.

RIPT drop a Milton Glaser-inspired Doctor Who t-shirt.

Harry Potter Muggle Ale shirt at Qwertee.

Those troublesome Tribbles are at Shirt Punch today.

Skyrim is the inspiration for this Nowhere Bad shirt.

I have no idea what the inspiration is for this design at The Yetee.

Star Wars meets Firefly today at OtherTees (who have a snazzy new site).

TeeRaiders have a Doctor Who design as well.

24tee go for the niche with one of the stars of the (surprisingly enthralling) King of Kong coin-op games documentary.

DBH love owls. On that subject, I saw a man walking down the street with an owl yesterday. Owls are great.

Hey look, Tilteed are selling one of their lesser seen designs again.

I have no idea what the kanji (presuming it’s Japanese) on this shirt says, so buyer beware at TeeMinus24.

Tee Gazette have put together their 10 favourite tees from the Storenvy marketplace for January.

Sock Monkee have released their Ampertastic Mr. Fox design as a print.

Adam over at IAMTHETREND busts six commonly held myths about his employer Storenvy.

Wrongwroks have released a parka with a faux fur trim.

Threadless have made some tees available to be put on Xbox avatars, and they cost about $1 each, but here’s the real kicker, if you want a hoodie you have to pay $2. They’re pixels, just because it costs double in real life doesn’t mean that they should cost double on the Xbox marketplace!

Glennz has made some more designs available as hoodies.

Mashable have a guide to building a strong online community around your brand.

Everything is on sale at Myth Clothing.

This Rihanna ‘thug life’ tattoo picture has been doing the rounds, but it’s her John Lennon t-shirt that interests me the most.

Here’s Katy Perry wearing a pretty cool hoodie (and I suspect a cool skull-based all over print t-shirt too).

Buy one get one free (on tees, not hoodies) at Eleven Eleven.

Typography Shop have put all their hoodies on sale.

Sehubabe have released a hoodie and t-shirt for Transardentes 2012 (a Belgian electro rock festival).

TanDan have been added as a brand store at A Better Tomorrow.

CXXVI’s Fall Collection is here

by Andy on November 6, 2011

cxxvi

Wow, that is a big, BIG release, thirty-eight items by my count. I think that this release shows where CXXVI are trying to go with their brand, and the direction is definitely up. Their prices are set to premium too, anyone that sells a keychain for $20 is premium, although to be fair to them it is partially made of brass and metals aren’t exactly cheap these days, and there’s a certain amount of irony in selling a bag called the ‘workers carrier’ for $130. hoodies are around $80 and tees are $36.

I’m questioning the prices, but everything in this release looks pretty incredible, the quality is clearly there so maybe those prices are justified, it’s quite unfair to judge their prices when I can’t actually feel the pieces.

Basically, all this stuff looks good, it’s quite pricey but that’s fine and I’m going round in circles not being sure whether a $36 shirt it worth it.

Loads of hot new stuff from Wrongwroks

by Andy on May 14, 2011

wrongwroks model renee I just noticed that I haven’t mentioned Wrongwroks in a long time, so I thought I’d fix that with a quick round up of their latest releases (hats, tees, shots and Manhattan Portage bags, all modeled by beautiful women, of course). We all know that Wrongwroks has an incredible release schedule, so I can’t cover everything, but the photos above show what they’ve been up to recently, and I’ll try and keep things more up to date in the future.

202 Star Wars T-Shirts [Lists]

by Andy on July 16, 2009

star-wars-t-shirts-logo

I think that you’d be pretty hard pressed to find a series of movies that have gained as much of a following as Star Wars, and as you’d expect that has resulted in a huge amount of t-shirts being produced that reference the films in one way or another. So, being HYA, I thought that I’d better make an unnecessarily large list of them. As always, the t-shirts are not ranked, the numbers are merely there as an illustration so that we all know which is which, so being #1 or #202 means nothing. Some of these tees will be pretty recognisable as they’ve been featured on HYA before, and some were also in the 101 Robots List from last month, but if you know of any I haven’t featured then please let me know in the comments. The list has also been split up into pages to ensure swift loading times (my server may probably wouldn’t like people loading 202 pictures at a time).

As you would expect these lists take quite a long time (this one took about 30 hours, seriously), so if you deem it worthy, it would be fantastic if you could promote this article in any way. Twitter, Delicious, StumbleUpon, Digg, your own blog, carve the URL onto a tree, anything!

Red Labor (sic), White Shirt

by Andy on April 4, 2006

dressshirt

In keeping with the weeks theme of branching out into new style of clothing (3/4 length long-sleeve, tee) and now a dress shirt. Josh over at Iron-on Resistance pointed me towards his site, which I’d seen a couple of months back, but I forgot to mention on here.

I quite enjoy wearing a dress shirt over a t-shirt when I go for a night out, so this meticulously detailed shirt really stood out for me. Maybe I’m really susceptible to advertising, but their description (“You’ll love it”) is pretty darned accurate.

If you get the chance take a look around the rest of the store, the wallets are really cool, it might be worth me changing my $1 New Found Glory wallet for something a bit more respectable.

Costiness=$100 URL here (only 4 made, so if you want it, get it).
