Resurgence Tees from Daniel Bevis

by Andy on October 2, 2012

Post image for Resurgence Tees from Daniel Bevis

Dan Bevis got in touch recently to let me know about his brand, Resurgence Tees. I guess that calling Resurgence a brand is a bit of a stretch at the moment, Dan has his designs spread across RedBubble, Society6 and Zazzle (profile links below), but he does intend to transition over to having items printed himself in the near future, which feels a lot more like having a brand to me.

One of the designs which caught my eye the most is the 8-bit & Aztec inspired ‘Door Into Summer’ shirt that I’ve included above. I was looking at it and thinking to myself, “I know that door, and that sea, I’m sure of it.” Turns out I do know it, it’s the door that you use after climbing a load of stairs getting to the ruins of King Arthur’s Castle in Cornwall, which I visited on a very wet day a couple of years ago, and predictably enjoyed a very nice pasty at “Merlin’s Pasties” afterwards. Anyway, Dan certainly has a few different styles in his stores, so do check his work out.

Post image for New release from Colus: ivory

Colus has done it again. This time with an elephant appropriately named “ivory”. Sticking to his minimalist style, this white on black discharge print looks more bold and beautiful than ever. Pick it up for $26 over at colushavenga.com.

Colus has also teamed up with Society6 to offer some his gorgeous designs as art prints for only $15. Also available framed and as stretched canvases.

Society6, the POD printer that has gained considerable traction as the go-to site for arty type, recently announced that they can now print onto dark coloured t-shirts and hoodies. Previously only lighter garments had been available, likely as a limitation of the DTG printing process they were using, so I’m sure this will come as a welcome addition to many of their artists, even if the extra labour involved means that the darker goods will costs a couple of bucks more each.

Designers take note, this option has not been automatically added to currently available designs, as you now need to upload a PNG with a transparent background to unlock the darker colours.

New and Nostalgic at Camiseteria!

by Leah on March 14, 2012

Post image for New and Nostalgic at Camiseteria!

Vagalumes by Robson Borges, the newest winning design over at Camiseteria, really caught my eye this week. Taking a look at this design instantly takes me back to my childhood; climbing trees, catching fireflies (or vagalumes) in a big jar, and living life carefree. Not only that, but the colors are magnificent – the reds, burgundy and gold remind me of those hot, Summer days right at dusk and the dark trees add a stripe-like pattern to the tee, which draws me in even more… makes me want to jump right into the tee and become a kid again.

Buy Vagalumes at Camiseteria as a lovely tee and also available as a print at Society6.

darth vader star wars t-shirt

I’m going to honest (which is something I seem to mention quite a lot on this site), I don’t know what this style of art is called, I would appreciate it if someone could explain what it is, and yes I Googled it, but ‘art made of loads of triangles‘ didn’t give me much.

last night I dreamt i lived in a forest

I think I’d like to see the typework incorporated a bit more with the graphics behind because they feel like slightly separate entities, but that doesn’t stop this from being a really lovely tee that I’d love to wear on a day like today (a sunny one).
