Ollie from Quintessential Fashion got in touch to say hello, he said in the e-mail that he wasn’t doing a pitch to get a post out of me and I like that, so I’m going to mention his tees in a post. Reverse psychology, it works. Also, being nice and polite works.

They’ve got some pretty cool shirts and I think that this is my favourite of the bunch, which is funny since I don’t really drink tea unless it’s forced upon me (which can happen in the UK).

Costiness=£13.99 Buy it at Quintessential Fashion

We British are obsessed with tea, mostly, I’m not the biggest fan in the world but I’m warming to it slowly when it gets forced on me. As a nation for which a cup of tea can fix almost anything, it’s hardly surprising that someone would create a line of t-shirts dedicated to the not-so humble brew, and from that obsession came Edward Teabelly. The brand launched with 7 shirts (as well as some pin badges and stickers) at the start of December and it all looks very polished for someone that is only launching their first brand. Clearly Dave (Edward is his middle name) has done his research and put together a well-thought out launch, and it’s good to see a British brand using American Apparel blanks for their shirts even though we have to pay a premium to use them.

If I were to criticise, and I might as well, I’d say that 3/7 shirts being logo or name based is a little much, even they’re nicely done, but the quality of the other shirts is good enough and give the line enough variety. Of the launch selection I’d ay that ‘jolly good brew’ is my favourite of the crop. Looking forward to see what these guys come up with in the future.

“Tea is Just Coffee’s Gay Cousin” – The Javashirt [Submitted]

Tea Is Gay1 Tea is Just Coffees Gay Cousin The Javashirt [Submitted]

Controversial? Maybe. Funny? Hell Yeah! “Tea Is Coffee’s Gay Cousin” is one of the most talked about Javashirts brought forth by Javaboi Industries. Originally I wanted to design a parody against the Tea beverage. The reason being is because I really got tired of defining and describing my products as “T-Shirts” this triggered the “J-Shirt” description of our products. The design is on a coffee brown garment with a pink tan and plaid pattern with in the text. It’s a great feel and an automatic conversation piece! Lastly, no offense to Tea drinkers. I drink tea whenever I am sick and need to get back to my original state of health, and honestly you will come up with your own meaning for the word “Gay” within the text of the J-Shirt but let’s not forget that Gay also means happy. LOL!!!

Thanks for reading
Javaboi Fresh

[Andy: I had always thought I didn't like tea in the British way (with milk, I had it on occasion without milk), and then it was forced upon me a couple of weeks ago, and now that I've been on a building site a bit more where tea is practically a vital human right, I actually quite like it, which makes me wonder if I have liked it for more than a decade without ever actually tasting it. So yeah, I think this tee is kinda stupid.]

Tea Shirt, because British people bloody love tea

Thumbnail image for Tea Shirt, because British people bloody love tea

Between ‘people’ and ‘love’ in that title I really wanted to drop the f-bomb in a Hipster Hitler kinda way, but I managed to resist. Yes, British people do love tea, though I don’t really count myself as a fan, I’ll have a cup of jasmine or green tea every so often, but my mates [...]

Mr. T pities fools that don’t drink tea

15.08.2008

I’ve had this design from Tee and Toast bookmarked for quite a while since I thought it was cute and funny, but since there has been a big furore recently over claims that Mr.T is homophobic (as if he was the one that wrote the script for a Snickers advert), I thought that he needed [...]
