the big lebowski

One of the main things that I have against all the mashups I see at the daily sites is that the two pieces of subject matter don’t need to be in the same design. Honestly, I can’t think of a reason why The Dude has been transplanted into the world of Scott Pilgrim but I still think this is cool, which makes me a total hypocrite but I’m okay with that.

Daily Tee Roundup 09/09/11: Be quick y’all!

by Andy on September 9, 2011

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along t-shirt

Sorry I missed the daily tee roundup yesterday, I was at the Westmorland County Show (which is funny because Westmorland hasn’t been a county since before I was born), hopefully we didn’t miss any amazing shirts.

TeeFury are giving us a shirt based on Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along today, I haven’t seen it so I have no idea what the shirt is about, but the design is pretty nice. $10 today only.

Today RIPT are selling a shirt called ‘Untitled Madness’ which sounds like the name an art student would give their piece when they can’t think of a good name for it. I’m not a fan of this shirt, it feels a bit generic in the way that it covers all the bases in terms of design elements; skull, birds, tree roots, random circles. There’s nothing wrong with liking all that stuff of course, but it’s not for me.

‘Cat-At loves you’ is one of the better shirts that Nowhere Bad have offered recently, really cute style. $12 for the shirt this weekend.

‘Princess Daiana’ is a very cool shirt from Loviu today, and I really like the way that it the colour palette is CMYK, that’s a nice touch. €12 for the rest of today then €22 in the catalogue.

‘Fish Fingers & Custard’ is on sale at Qwertee for the next couple of days. I presume that this is a Doctor Who reference to Amy Pond?

The Yetee have been impressing me with their releases, I don’t know much about them but they do seem to have cool designs, and that’s all I’m interested in really. This Star Fox shirt is available for $11 for the next 4 days.

‘Cell Division’, ha, you crack me up sometimes Shirt.Woot.

‘Pug and Play’ has a cool style to it, and I think that this Tilteed shirt might mark the first time I’ve featured designers from Hungary, so that’s a new thing. Shirt $12 for the next few hours, then it’s gone.

There’s a surprisingly large amount of Big Lebowski shirts out there really, I know it’s a cult film, but it gets a lot more t-shirt attention than I expected. You can pick up this shirt at TeeMinus24 for $13 today.

Daily Tee Roundup Sept. 7th 2011

leonardo dicaprio meme t-shirts

I have been posting the daily tee sites for a couple of weeks now, and whilst I think it is a good idea, I don’t really like the way that it is dominating the site so much when you look through the previous pages, it looks like daily tee sites are the main focus of HYA, which they aren’t, everything in the tee world is the focus of HYA. So I’m going to give putting them in a group a go and publishing a roundup post each day and see how that goes. Comments welcome if you’d like to advise which format you prefer.

‘Feeling Dreamy’ is a shirt that you can like on two levels; one, it’s just a nice design, and two, there is definitely a meme in there and I’m not going to let slip what it is. $12 for a few more hours at Tilteed.

‘The Juniper Tree’ is okay, but I’m not getting too excited by it, it’s just one of those designs that anyone could have in their wardrobe but it’s never going to be a favourite. $10 today at Shirt.Woot

‘Dire Brew’ is apparently something to do with Game of Thrones, I haven’t seen the show yet (it is Sky+’d though), y’all think I’m gonna love it? $10 today at TeeFury

‘Let’s Roll’ is a Big Lebowski t-shirt, obviously, and a mighty fine one at that. This is what you get when you meet a stranger in the Alps! From $10 today at RIPT Apparel.

‘Dextoon’ is my favourite daily tee of the day, in fact it’s probably going to be my shirt of the week (not that I keep a chart, I just think it’s really good), fun style and a good way to deal with Dexter since shirts about serial killers tend to be a bit depressing and gory. £8 at Qwertee for another day and a half.

‘I hate police’ isn’t a sentiment that I agree with, but I do like the style of this shirt so I’m a little bit torn. €12 at Loviu today.

‘Tree’ is a pretty clever shirt, by no means brilliant, but I’d be happy seeing it in my wardrobe. $25 from today onwards at

the dude abides t-shirt

I think I’ve only seen The Big Lebowski once, but I remember liking it, I’d say that my favourite scene, or at least the one that sticks in my mind the most is the on where someone is trying to barricade a door with a chair and it turns out the door opens the other way. I don’t know what it was about that scene, but it had me howling with laughter.

big lebowski movie t-shirt

There are quite a few companies out there with t-shirt lines based around films, such as Last Exit to Nowhere, and Dark Bunny Tees. now you can add another name to that list, Malgusto. This Spanish-based brand created by a boyfriend & girlfriend team do take a slightly different tack though, creating shirts that look as if they could be used as promo posters for the movies. Their actual site is in Spanish, but it’s not that hard to work out what is what, and that’s coming from someone that hasn’t been to Spain for about a decade, and even then could only order food in the native language. They do have an English FAQ though to cover your most pressing concerns.

I picked their Big Lebowski shirt to show you today because this is the internet, and apparently everyone on the internet loves The Big Lebowski, and why not, because it is an excellent film, and this is a pretty fitting tribute of a shirt to such a fine movie. Malgusto were kind enough to set up a coupon code of HIDEYOURARMS that is good for 10% off, so enjoy that!
