Post image for Tshirt Laundry launched 3 election shirts yesterday, vote Quimby!

That I’m posting these shirts today makes it just that little bit more clear that buying a shirt with ‘2012’ written on it is a bad idea, the shirt dates itself and ends up being something you don’t want to wear in public. However, the ‘Vote Quimby’ shirt at Tshirt Laundry can be worn at any time and since it’s a solid reference it’s always going to be fun, even when it’s not an election year. The election shirts are $12 today, rising after that.

tshirt laundry

Tshirt Laundry have one of the most obscure Simpsons reference t-shirts I’ve ever seen, there must be some big fans of the show in their office.

homer simpson funny round is a shape t-shirt

This isn’t typical HYA style, but then going to the gym isn’t exactly typical HYA style. I’ll happily spend an hour going up and down the lane in a pool even though I’m usually the biggest guy in there, but the notion of entering a gym and doing anything other than going on the rowing machine or bike fills me with dread. It might not be the case, but it certainly feels like in every gym I’ve set foot in that I’m being judged because I’m not sculpted from marble, and this shirt from 80sTees would make me feel a lot better about myself, because I may not be perfect but I’m trying, dammit.

Awesome All-Over Print Simpsons t-shirt

by Andy on April 26, 2012

simpsons all over print t-shirt

Let’s get this out of the way first of all, this shirt is currently sold out, I didn’t want to get anyone’s hopes up too much just to dash them at the end of the post. I’m generally not a huge fan of all-over prints like this one since they are just so busy (and the print is usually a bit off in places, as the printers acknowledge in this case too), but I’m happy to make an exception when it comes to this shirt since I really like the concept and as someone born in 1984 it pretty much goes without saying that The Simpsons is one of my favourite shows of all-time, I’m even in that small group that feels the last couple of seasons have signaled a return to form after they were in the wilderness for a little bit.

I wonder if anyone has ever made a Where’s Waldo/Wally (if you’re a Brit) shirt in this style, seems like a perfect fit to me.

Costiness=$29.99 Currently out of stock at MyTeeSpot

T-shirt news for March 9th

by Andy on March 9, 2012

how I met your mother t-shirt

Considering how popular How I Met Your Mother is there are surprisingly few t-shirts about it, TeeFury are bucking that trend.

Shirt.Woot‘s description suggests that this shirt has nothing to do with the Brady Bunch.

Whiskey and zombies, a match made in the apocalypse (and at RIPT).

An Asian take on the three-eyed fish from the early days of The Simpsons are Qwertee.

Zelda inspired shirt at Shirt Punch.

A surprisingly intricate Vader design at The Yetee.

I might be reading a bit more into this that there really is, but today is the anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G’s death, and he had a song called ‘Recognize a Pimp’ so…. 24tee, did I crack the code?

Hydro74 has one of those styles you can recognise really easily, here he is at DBH today.

Today’s Made in the Now shirt references the story of a cupcake vending machine in Beverly Hills.

BustedTees ‘Control Freak’ design is down to $11 from $20.

Cute design gets another outing at Tilteed.

Tee and Toast are gearing up for St. Patrick’s Day with these Guiness brooches.

Last Exit to Nowhere were approached to be the official producer of crew t-shirts for John Carter (which is released today, just by chance), and they’ve been allowed to sell the shirts for a limited time.

SS12 is now online at Dephect.

New Diamond Supply Co snapbacks are in at Street Casuals.

SpringLeap have teamed up with Stimorol for their biggest ever design contest, and this time it’s for packaging, not tees.

Pretty cool selection from Tshirt Laundry this week, I think that my favourite of the bunch is the Malk shirt since I like that Simpsons joke.

Daily Tees and News for November 5th

by Andy on November 5, 2011

coffee-aid t-shirt

Oh yeah! TeeFury

Were Tilteed not selling this design just a couple of weeks ago?

Nice Zelda shirt (right reference?) at Shirt.Woot today.

RIPT bring us a Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure mashup today.

It always amazes me how few Simpsons t-shirts there are out there. The Yetee.

Was someone else selling this Buffy the Vampire Slayer t-shirt recently? No matter, it’s available at OtherTees now.

I don’t know what or if there is a reference on this 24tee shirt, but it’s a pretty cool design either way.

A quick Google tells me that this TeeRaiders ‘Miranda Reavers’ design is something to do with Firefly.

At first I was like, “oh, that’s nice” then I looked at this Loviu design a little closer.

Oh man, I’d just written a whole thing about not getting the reference on this Shirt Punch tee, then it hit me, Marty McFly from Back To The Future?

Coty of CotyGonzales.com fame has a new-ish site called Exploration Hawaii all about hiking around Hawaii. We have some stunning walks around where I live (it may be called the Lake District, but there are hills around all those lakes), but the places he’s going look amazing. He’s running a little competition to win a $25 gift certificate from Threadless that I’m sure you’ll want to enter before November 10th.

Kissmetrics have a viral marketing cheat sheet that brand owners may want to check out.

Cuppa-T have put up their Christmas shipping dates.

PalmerCash are doing their bit for Movember.

Urban Outfitters (in the UK/Europe at least) are offering free shipping this weekend.

Hot Topic have updated their monthly coupon code, you can get 20% off with HTA20NOV providing you spend at least $60. Coupon expires December 2nd.

HYA blogger Sleepy Dan has added some snap back hats to his store, expect a behind the scenes look at how they were printed here in the next day or so.

Threadless have added some gorgeous (and massive) graphics to their partnership with Blik.

Make Believe have released a short but delightful video that really captures the spirit of their brand.

Terratag have got a grab bag offer going on that I think gives really good value. They’re mystery tees or sweats/hoodies, so you’ll have to be a big fan of Terratag, but since they have a fairly cohesive range, I think if you like one of their shirts you’ll probably like most of them.

Shirt designers always need more textures right? Apparently this free texture pack at Mintees is mighty fine.

Looks like Mintees are going to be opening a marketplace, which is going to be another nail in the coffin of ShirtHive (another idea I had but couldn’t find the time for).

There’s a really funny interview with former HYA blogger Randyotter at TheShirtList.

homer simpson t-shirt

To be honest, I don’t like this Homer tee from Atslopes, I don’t feel as if they do enough with it to make it enough of an homage or parody of The Simpsons, it’s just his face with the yellow of the head removed. Still, since it’s Simpsons related I’m sure it will be a winner for them. Am I being harsh? If so tell me in the comments.

However, I am quite excited that they have opened up a pop-up shop in New York, at 220 Bowery Street in NYC. No word on how long the shop will be open so get down there if you have the chance, tell them Andy sent you, or maybe not since they might not like me after I just made my feelings for the Homer tee pretty clear. One day I’d love open a HYA shop selling some of the great shirts that I feature on the blog, that is a real dream of mine, but I can’t see it happening for a few years at least.

milhaus simpson bauhaus t-shirt

People that like The Simpsons and Bauhaus? There’s probably more overlap on that Venn diagram than I’d assume. When I went to Berlin a couple of years ago for T-Shirt Day my hotel was next to the Bauhaus museum, I didn’t venture inside, but the building looked pretty damn cool.

Anyway, this tee is damn cool, and it’s screenprinted by hand in Philadelphia by a guy called Patt Whelan, so it’s got to be good.

Knifey Spoony t-shirt by Powerup Apparel

knife spoon simpsons t-shirt

I am such a sucker for a Simpson’s referencing tee, especially one that takes something that was only said on the show once (unlike a catchphrase) but is remembered by almost everyone that’s seen it.

Petoria + Joehio 4 Ever by Unreal Cotton

by Andy on July 15, 2009

petoriajoehio4ever-guy-tee_1247519748146

Unreal Cotton are a company that create tees based upon imaginary/fictional places in TV and movies, such as Springfield in the Simpsons and Quahog in Family guy. As a concept, I love it, going into their universe and treating it as realiyu is a better way to reach out to fans of the show than to just slap a logo or character onto a tee. Fortunately, the quality of the concept matches up with the quality of the designs, in fact, the one I’ve picked out here is probably the least impressive when it comes to design skill (but as I’ve mentioned in the past, I don’t know about these things, so I could be wrong).

Load-Bearing poster by Olly Moss

by Andy on January 10, 2009

3181066592_c5b6ca817e

I am A-MAZED that no one has thought of doing this before (if someone did, let me know in the comments). I’m not even going to bother explaining the Simpsons reference in this picture because if you get it you’re probably going to find this funny, and if you don’t, we all know that I’d spend about ten sentences explaining the joke and end up ruining it, because that’s how good I am at telling jokes.

You can download a printable version of the poster here (warning: PDF link), or look at it here on Flickr and read all the comments Olly gets saying that he’s awesome.

Tiffany Godoy wears a new summer tee by Wrongwroks

It turns out that I’m not the paradigm of coolness that you all believed me to be, as I didn’t recognise the name of Tiffany Godoy when I first heard it, but then when I read that she was the one who wrote Style Deficit Disorder things started to become a bit clearer for me, and I felt cool again. This new tee is classic Wrongwroks in terms of ideology, but a bit of a departure from the norm in terms of style. Would I be right in thinking that in this design Marge is being grabbed by the white glove of Krusty the clown? He wears white gloves, right? Or maybe Wrongworks are returning to one of their older themes and the glove actually belongs to Mickey Mouse? Who knows? Clearly I don’t.Wrongwroks
