Three new shirts, three new prints, and a brand new tote bag make for 7 new items in the Ugmonk store. And you can save 20% off all of them until June 3rd with discount code “Spring20″. My favorite is definitely the Never Settle t-shirt.

Premium Line Released by Ugmonk

by Andy on April 26, 2012

ugmonk premium line

When I saw the word ‘premium’ associated with this latest Ugmonk release I expected the prices to be sky high, but it’s actually all pretty reasonable, with the crewneck coming in at $62, the henley $38 and the tee at $32. Sure, $32 is a bit more than we’re used to paying for a t-shirt, but it’s not the sticker shock I feared, it’s not your standard American Apparel shirt, and it does come boxed. They’re all really nice looking pieces, and I trust Jeff that he has added value to go along with the increase in price.

T-shirt news for March 27th

by Andy on March 27, 2012

half life t-shirts

Considering how popular Half Life is it’s no wonder that TeeFury decided it would be a good idea to produce a related shirt.

Shirt.Woot drop one of my favourite Star Wars t-shirts for a while.

Nice Sherlock shirt from RIPT today.

ugmonk mountains t-shirt

When Ugmonk released the simple-yet-brilliant ‘Mountains’ design on a t-shirt last year it went on to become one of their fastest selling items ever, and considering just about everyone loves Ugmonk that probably means something. So it’s no surprise that Jeff has decided to expand the range to include a hoodie, a print, and also to print the t-shirt version on a charcoal grey shirt instead of the previous black. They;re all available in the shop now and you can get 10% off with your order with the coupon code MOUNTAINS.

Daily Tees & News for December 13th

by Andy on December 13, 2011

my little pony pokemon t-shirt

I don’t really understand the crossover between My Little Pony and Pokemon, but I’m sure some of you will.

Having never watched Venture Bros I’m not particularly enamored with today’s shirt at RIPT.

Nice 8-bit tee at Shirt.Woot today.

ugmonk charity drive

I’m lucky enough that I live in a world where I get to choose what I eat most days, sure, I’m not eating lobster stuffed with tacos for breakfast, but I have never been in a situation where I’ve had to go hungry, and I probably take that for granted, so it’s crazy for me to have to think about children that might not get to eat all day. It’s a horrible situation that I all too often turn a blind eye to, so I’m glad there are people out there like Jeff at Ugmonk trying to help and raise awareness.

Jeff has temaed up with Rice Bowls for his 4th annual Ugmonk Charity drive, something he always does at this time of year, often instead of engaging in the usual clamour for sales that you find with people offering large discounts on their goods. For every item (not every order, every item) that is sold through to the end of the year Ugmonk will make sure that a hungry child will receive a full day of meals.

Personally, I’m a little uneasy about the Christian aspect of the charity, but at the end of the day they are changing lives so I should accept that the good outweighs any moral qualms I have, and it wouldn’t stop me from making a purchase at Ugmonk over the holiday season.

Three new impossibly good shirts from Ugmonk

by Andy on November 9, 2011

ugmonk impossible shapes

I really like these new shirts from Ugmonk, they are in keeping with Jeff’s simple style but they still look very good, with that little going onto the tee there’s not much margin for error and as usual Ugmonk has come up with the goods. Each shirt is $24 and available now.

Daily Tees & News Roundup for November 1st

by Andy on November 1, 2011

Zelda t-shirt

Zelda shirt from TeeFury today, nice style and colourway.

Another old design from Tilteed, they don’t seem to have released anything new for a while, I’ll drop them an e-mail to ask what is up.

It’s quite hard to tell from the image above, but the skull in this Stupidhurts.us shirt is made of kisses, thus the name ‘Long Kiss Goodnight.’

This tee from Shirt.Woot is surprisingly Anglo-centric, I didn’t know Americans knew the Guy Fawkes story.

Great Gremlins shirt from RIPT today.

OtherTees have a Portal gun sketch up for the next few days.

As someone who enjoys killing time with Angry Birds, I can appreciate this 24tee shirt.

Once again Barbie is a slut at Loviu.

I feel like the Mario image is a little bit awkward on this Catch of the Day Tee shirt, but I do still like the design overall, and I’m not sure how I’d prefer Mario to look, so it’s a bit of an unfair comment.

Japanese -inspired design from Shirt Punch. Man, I’d love to go back to Japan on another holiday.

Ugmonk have released a premium wooden ampersand (that holds itself to a stainless steel base with a super strong magnet) priced at $299 that makes me wish I knew how to use the very expensive CNC that we have in our workshop (for my other job). As someone who has been around wood for his entire life I feel that it is a bit pricey, but then I’m looking at it as a product rather than art, and with it being a limited first run of 15 pieces I can see how that has pushed up the price.

Neighborhood have released a new expensive t-shirt.

Today only you can get 20% off your order at Glamour Kills with the coupon code TRICKORTREAT.

New blogger on HYA Goodfibres have cut the price of their shirts to £15 until November 7th.

PalmerCash have 20 new shirts in stock, presumably these are two of them.

Storenvy are giving away two signed copies of the Thread’s Not Dead book. IATT have all the details, be sure to enter before November 4th.

Wrongwroks have had a big release in their webstore, not many tees so I didn’t think I should give them their own post.

And lastly, your daily reading for t-shirt store owners from Mashable, “How to Time Your Facebook Posts to Reach the Most Fans“.

Daily Tee & News Roundup for October 27th

by Andy on October 27, 2011

lady gaga halloween t-shirt

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a shirt that references Lady Gaga before, so that’s something new from TeeFury.

Yup, the Disney logo is a shirt meme, fortunately the designs I’ve seen so far have been pretty cool, and I’d count this offering from Qwertee amongst that group.

Interesting shirt from Tilteed (that I presume they’ve sold before since they have model shots of it), nice big print on it.

Stupidhurts.us have been cranking out the new designs recently, huh?

Excellent work from former HYA writer Randyotter at Shirt.Woot today, this may well be the cutest penguin shirt I’ve ever seen.

Fun shirt from RIPT today, though of course no one will know you’re wearing it in Winter because you’ll have several layers on top.

Nicely done Portal shirt at The Yetee today.

Pity that you won’t be able to get this 24tee shirt in time for Halloween, I’m sure it could be useful with a few outfits.

Can someone explain the reference on this TeeRaiders shirt/hoodie? Is it referencing an actual event or is it purely invented by the artist?

Lovely starry negative space design by Loviu today, right up my street.

When memes and games collide at Shirt Punch today with ‘Snake in a Box’.

Catch of the Day Tee again don’t have anything on their site, I wonder why they don’t put up a message when they haven’t got a shirt to offer, or why they don’t just run the shirts for another day of sale.

Ugmonk have got a new lookbook that reveals no new tees, but does look pretty.

The Daily Street have a roundup of Johnny Cupcake‘s Halloween release event in London.

Dark Bunny Tees have put a new shirt up for pre-order, this one celebrates The Last Starfighter, and the first 100 orders will also receive a free Space Invaders styled poster.

Glennz has cut the price of all the ‘scary’ shirts in his catalogue to $13.95 until the end of the month.

How to start a clothing company takes a look at the pros and cons of screenprinting vs. direct to garment printing.

Mashable put out an article not-that-long-ago that called ‘10 Essential Tips for Startups‘, and judging by some of the things I get in my inbox I think that quite a few t-shirt companies could do with heeding some of their advice.

A Better Tomorrow must be getting close to relaunching their site, take advantage of the savings on their own shirts (this offer doesn’t apply to brand stores).

Ugmonk’s Minimalism Series

by Andy on May 18, 2011

mountains t-shirt

These shirts were released last week and I somehow managed to completely miss the boat, which has resulted in the black tee already selling out, though it is in the process of being reprinted so my lateness will not result in you missing out. Pretty solid release from Ugmonk, but of course we have come to expect nothing less from Mr. Sheldon. The shirts are $24 a piece and printed on American Apparel.

ugmonk charity drive

Every year that Ugmonk has been around Jeff has done this, and every year it has been a good thing. You can get 15% off your order at Ugmonk from now until the end of the year with the coupon code GIVEBACK, which is great by itself, and every single item sold up until December 31st will result in a needy child somewhere in the world getting a hot meal (via Samaritan’s Purse, Jeff hasn’t opened a soup kitchen). Last year they managed to supply 588 meals, and Ugmonk has only gone fro strength to strength so hopeflly this year they will be able to do even better. Here’s Ugmonks blog post about the charity drive, coupon code, and a couple of new items (new colourways of previous designs).

Two fantastic new designs from Ugmonk

by Andy on November 19, 2010

ugmonk releases

Ugmonk are one of the few sites that I actually get excited about seeing new items from, because you can practically guarantee that you’ll be seeing a quality product that would make a good addition to any wardrobe. Two home-runs once again from Jeff Sheldon. The long sleeved shirt is $28, and the short sleeve is $24.

The Ugmonk Lookbook

ugmonk lookbook

Normally, I wouldn’t mention a lookbook, but this one from HYA-faves Ugmonk is just too damned gorgeous not to share.

ugmonk box set

Ugmonk has come a long way in 2 years, to the point where it has now become Jeff’s full-time job. For the 2nd birthday he’s released a gorgeous looking box set that’s limited to 200 pieces/boxes that I’m sure will fly off the shelves in spite of the $50 price tag. It was only released a couple of hours ago though so you’ll probably have a chance to pick one up if you fancy it. Since it’s the 2nd birthday the 2nd, 22nd, 122nd, and 200th boxes will also be receiving a free “2 are better than one” just in case you haven’t quite got that this is the second year that Ugmonk has been around.

If that doesn’t tickle your fancy but you’d still like to pick up some Ugmonk gear then you’ll be happy to hear that there is a 20% off sale going on today and tomorrow. Jeff himself admits that it isn’t a huge saving, but considering that I can’t remember there being another sale or coupon code at Ugmonk in a long, long time, so it’s as big as you’re gonna get! The coupon code is TWOYEARS
