The notion of a streetwear company releasing a hat specifically because of Valentine’s Day does make me laugh, but it’s a cool hat so I’m not going to dwell on it for too long.

I got sent an e-mail about this Valentine’s Day inspired shirt from Edward Teabelly whilst I was away on holiday, so unsurprisingly I didn’t really get a chance to write about it before the big day on Tuesday. Fortunately for us all ET didn’t decide to splash “EDWARD TEABELLY 2012 VALENTINES DAY SHIRT THAT SHOULD ONLY BE ON VALENTINES DAY” on the print, because it still looks like a great shirt today as well, and Thursdays aren’t nearly as romantic as Tuesdays.

I thought it might be useful to scour the web for these tee lists and put them all together in one big post. Of course, a lot of these lists will be fairly old now, and t-shirts inevitably come and go, so some of the tees featured in the lists will no longer be available, but there’s not a whole lot we can do about that now, is there? If you know of any lists that I’ve missed (and I’m sure there will be a lot), please let me know in the comments.
It would be very, very much appreciated if you could tweet about this post, stumble it, bookmark it on delicious, mention it in a blog post, digg it, or fly a banner behind an airplane with the URL on it, anything at all. These lists take a long time to put together, and the more people that get to see them the more people will be visiting the lists I’ve collected below, which will be beneficial for the entire t-shirt blogosphere.

According to our man in Japan (who, by the way, is in now way ‘ours’), the guys over at Spreadshirt are all about the love, holding a contest with for lovey-dovey designs, with 2 $500 prizes up for grabs. You have until January 15th to get your designs in.
In contrast, the Cafepress crew are bitter and presumably have no one to wine & dine on Valentines (not that I do either, mind you… ladies of Philly, interested?), and are holding an anti-Valentines design competition, with a total prize fund of of $400 worth of gift certificates and an American Express Gift Card up for grabs. The competition is open to US residents only (boo!) and submissions need to be tagged by January 22nd.

If you’ve got a date for Valentine’s Day (not me… sigh) then you’ve got to be very careful about what you wear. I guess if you guys are taking your girl to a fancy restaurant then t-shirts might not necessarily be part of your dress code, but some of you might be taking the more casual approach, in which case one of these tees might be right up your alley. As usual for my lists, they aren’t in any particular order, and I know there’s a lot more romantic tees out there but I really thought it would be best to keep this list to the appropriate figure of 14 items. Oh Spreadshirt, you hopeless bunch of romantics. I don’t know if me making a tee professing my love to a girl would really do the trick, but I’m sure there are some people willing to give it a go, and I’m sure that getting 14% off orders over $18 should help. The coupon code is LOVE308 in the US and CADLOVE308 in Canada. It will work from now until February 21st, which I guess means you can make up those “I can’t believe that bitch dumped me on Valentines Day” tees if your V-Day didn’t work out as planned.
As far as I can tell there’s no love for us Europeans, Spreadshirt must think that we’re already romantic enough as it is!
