vinyl toys

To be completely frank, I don’t like these designs, they just don’t suit my personal taste, but I can see them being popular with some people, and I’d also be willing to bet that they’ll look a lot better when printed than in this mockup form.

Pre-order now for $20 at outsmART originals and be entered into a giveaway to win a customised 4 inch Munny by JFURY, whose work has been featured by KidRobot, so it’s safe to say he’s pretty good at it.

80s movies t-shirt

Sorry about the intermittent service on HYA recently, our wireless router failed last week, I ordered another on rush delivery from Amazon and when it arrived it wouldn’t work, and our backup router is quite old and a little flakey which doesn’t help things. There is another router on the way from Amazon though, so hopefully all of this will be sorted out before I go on my traditional Christmas break.

Wow, there really were a lot of iconic movies released in 1985, cool shirt from TeeFury.

gold coin

I’ve always found the notion of a ‘capsule collection’ quite funny, it’s just a way of making ‘small collection’ sound cooler… and it kind of works.

I do like the idea of this collection from Gold Coin, releasing a vinyl toy, accessories sweater and a tee at the same time, although the fact that I like that hieroman character probably has a lot to do with it, even if the toy is $68 (probably normal in the vinyl toy world, but a little much for me).

So much for me trying to stop this blog being so HYA-centric at the moment, but when you release your own tee (still on sale folks!), get mentioned in a respected magazine, and have your logo turned into a pair of cufflinks these things need to be mentioned.

The lady in my life made this figure out of clay for me in the official HYA colours, so now the site has a mini-mascot. I had been thinking a few days ago that it would be cool if I could get a Dunny painted up with the HYA logo… it’s like she can read my mind!

Naturally, this is 1-of-1 and it ain’t going on sale, though if you’re willing to pay $10,000 for one I could probably persuade her to make another.

Jon Burgerman opens the Burgerplex

by Andy on August 3, 2009

Renowned British artist Jon Burgerman (who, by law, has to have the term ‘doodler’ inserted into every post about him) has opened a new webstore called the Burgerplex at which to sell his fine, fine work. There isn’t a tee in sight (yet), but I’m a fan, and it’s my site, so I’m happy to go off-topic for a moment.

New Wrongwroks!

by Andy on July 27, 2009

I can see why some people don’t like Wrongwroks, the designs only ever seem to be an evolution of the previous parody that he did, but there’s always something about them that I like, and it isn’t just that Tony can always get a cute model for his shoots, Percy Fan in this case (yes Percy, the Percy I know in Philly, if you lived in Hong Kong you’d be a girl!).

Our chums over at Urban Retro have got some pretty decent deals going on at the moment; t-shirts are up to 70% off, Poketo and tinymeat wallets up to 50% off, gelaskins are up to 75% off, vinyl toys up to 70% off, and posters a mere 40% off. Of course, those high percentage savings are pretty rare in the store, but there are definitely bargains to be found.

If those savings aren’t enough for you, you can get 10% off your entire order by using the coupon code URBAN10, and 15% off gelakins by using the coupon code GELASKINS15. Both of these codes are valid until January 31st 2010, which is rather a long time away.

Nick Mannion MOD:1

The Urban Retro crew are clearly just waiting for the day when our robot slaves inevitably rise-up, stop riding bicycles for our amusment, and enslave the rest of us because they’ve been appeasing the robot world with so many fine, fine robot-based products in their store. They’ve added t-shirts by Dephect and Terratag, vinyl toys, iPod & iPhone gelaskins and even some Poketo wallets that all benefit from that extra touch of awesome that can only come from having a robot-based design.

Throughout the whole month of April you can get 15% off your order (that doesn’t necessarily have to involve robot products… I think) by using the coupon code LOVEROBOTS. There’s that number 15 again, this is getting kinda weird!

Check out their blog post all about the latest releases.
