Since you guys know Ray from Lowdtown is the creative force behind the new HYA logo, and responsible for the tee in the HYA store, you’d think that there’s no way I’d be able to give him a fair and unbaised review… and you’d be right. So I’m not going to. Instead, here’s some cool new items from Lowdtown, including other crew neck sweaters, a tee, and wallet. Yes, a wallet, and a pretty sweet one at that. I like them, you judge for yourself.

In a special treat, you will now get an insight to the world of my e-mail inbox:
Hi Andy!!!
My name is Javi, I am one of the three co-founders of Melon Kid (as well as a fan of Hide your Arms!). Have you already listened something about Melon Kid? No? Are you sure? So… I have to solve it! J
So, I will tell you that Melon Kid is a new online t-shirt shop (well, that is not 100% true because we also sell hoodies, caps, wallets, etc.). I will very proud if you could take a look to our website: www.melonkid.com. What do you think about it? Do you like the designs available? If you have any suggestion, I will be really happy to hear it!
In this e-mail I have attached some photos of our designs. As you will see, we only print 500 tees of each design. Furthermore, you could see more photos and some videos of us in our Facebook special page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/MELON-KID/22129867771 )
And I read something like that more times a day than I would care to mention, although some of them foolishly neglect to heap praise on me in their opening paragraph (don’t they know my ego needs constant stroking?). Melon Kid have got some really cute designs, they remind me of the Threadless style from a few years ago, which is most certainly a good thing in my eyes. Also, their mascot is really cool too, if you weren’t tempted to click through before, please do, hopefully you’ll be as tickled as I am with a Melon giving a hearty thumbs up.

If the title and graphic weren’t enough, I’m going to tell you as well, Resist Today (Iron-On Resistance to those of us that are old skool) are holding a summer sale in which t-shirts are $15 and wallets are $29. I can’t remember how much their tees usually are, but I think they were probably $20+ so this does represent a pretty decent deal. They’re also running a bit of a design competition, where you remix
their artwork (they’re giving you really high quality files to work with, one of them is 50MB), and if they like it a lot then it’ll be printed up and they’ll split the profits 50/50.
