Dedicated Wrongwroks followers probably recognise the Kate Moss part of the design on this tee, but the difference between this tee and all the other things that have had that Kate Moss design slapped onto them is that this one has skulls on it! And different arms tags! And text on the back signifying that this is a collaboration with Nano Universe! And a V-Neck!

I can’t believe I managed to go more than a week since getting back blogging without mentioning Wrongwroks!

They seem to release something every week, but I get the feeling that this Summer release is much bigger than usual, with a load of cool hoodies, hats, and tees. There’s also a new iPhone skin in the mix, and an art print, in case you have too many clothes and some space on your walls. All the items can be found in the gallery.

Another week, another release of designs from Wrongwroks. I really like this new hoodie, I never like the way that a hoodie looks when people put their hands in the pocket/pockets (I do it all the time though, the should probably call here Chilladelphia… sorry), but a hoodie like this would probably make me a lot more welcoming to it… might look a bit silly when your hands aren’t in there though.

Check out the other in the gallery, the green & black ‘flower dorabob’ hoodies mark Wrongwroks first foray into a ladies line with cut and sew hoodies just for the girls.

Super Bored Grand Opening

by Andy on March 3, 2009

2-28-3

I know I promised you I’d grab some exclusive pics of the Mishka NYC x Ubiq pop up store, but I haven’t got round to it quite yet, so here’s some shots from the other ‘cool store opening of the week’, Super Bored (from Wrongwroks) over in Vancouver (1701 West 4th Ave).

Looks like a really great store, it’s a pity I can’t leave the country and re-enter under my visa, otherwise I probably would have made Vancouver a stop-off on my American odyssey, so I guess that these pics are as close as I’ll be getting to Super Bored.

More pics of the store and the opening party in the gallery.

Wrongwroks are opening their very own store in Vancouver!

There’s going to be a party instore on Saturday, so if you’re a Vancouverite/Vancouverian/Vancouvanino/Vancadian head on down and check it out, but RSVP first, it’s only polite, I’ve included the flyer in the gallery.

Also in the gallery are the latest Wrongwroks releases (I know, they never stop), a few hats this time around.

LOADS of new stuff from Wrongwroks

Tees, hats, stickers, iPhone cases, the latest two releases from Wrongwroks have pretty much got it going on. If I wanted to get traffic I guess I should have put scantily clad model shot at the top of this post, but I like the pixelated ape tee way to much to bury it in the gallery with everything else.

W’s Burger Tee from Wrongwroks

by Andy on January 25, 2009

Can anyone tell me which brand it is which inspired the hat that the gorgeous Nikkie Hsieh (Wrongwroks latest model) is wearing in this pic?

I get the feeling it’s probably a fast food brand, but I can’t put my finger on which one. The hat is available on it’s own, or you can get a hat and tee combo.

HYA Presents… Presents!

by Andy on December 28, 2008

pict1141

A few people from the tee world sent me present over the festive period, and as they are gifts I don’t think it would be right for me to review them ‘properly’, but it would be a bit rude of me not to post a few pictures of the goodies. First up, Wrongwroks, Tony sent over a couple of tees and a hat. The only problem with me wearing Wrongwroks is that I have to spend a couple of minutes explaining to everyone that asks me “why does Spongebob look funny?” that it’s a mashup of Spongebob and Doraemon… and then I have to explain who Doaremon is.

Wrongwroks Winter Collection

by Andy on December 11, 2008

Just when I think I’ve run out of Wrongwroks news, Tony drops another slew of releases, does this man ever sleep?

There’s a nice and healthy amount of hoodies available this time around, as well as more tees and caps, riffing on the usual “hey, is that copyright infringement or fair use?” themes. One of the special this releases is called ‘Nat In the Box’ and features most of the tees Wrongwroks sold (and a couple of new ones) with super-cute model Nat on them, and comes in a limited edition box. There’s a bunch of pics in the gallery, so check them out.

P®LKAD©TS collection by Wrongwroks

by Andy on December 6, 2008

After an usually long amount of time between releases, Wrongwroks has dropped this great wind breaker, along with a matching backpack, tote bag, hat, and camera bag. Yes, you can cover your body from head to toe errr waist in polkadots!

I really like the look of all the items, but I don’t think I could quite pull off wearing them all at once. There’s lots of cool little touches on them, like the custom WR zippers, double thickness hood on the windbreaker (to help the hood stand up when you’re wearing it and not flap around), little ® and © symbols breaking up the pattern, and plenty of adjustable straps to keep everything tight.

I’ve put loads of more detailed shots into the gallery.

New tees at Wrongwroks

by Andy on November 25, 2008

You know what surprised me about Hong Kong? Charlie Brown is huge over there, to the point at which I simply had to check it out and go in one of the Charlie Brown coffee shops and try some of the cheesecake (and good grief it was tasty). The place was totally surreal, everything was CB branded and styled, it felt like I was sat in a cartoon.

I guess that the fascination with Charlie Brown might be why Wrongwroks were inspired to create this simple but instantly recognisable design. There’s also a couple of other designs/colourways in the gallery.

Newvember at Wrongwroks

by Andy on November 4, 2008

Wrongwroks got ripped by some brand over in Korea (lets not get into whether he can be ripped when he does so many mashups), so he’s taken their copy, copied it, and released it with the text “Colonize [the Korean brand – I think] steals Wrongwroks”.

Also, new hats, new sticker sets, new mobile phone straps, and more Dorabob. There’s a big gallery of the new stuff after the break.

Me being down in France has meant that we’ve been spending quite a lot of time with some old favourite brands, eh guys?

Wrongwroks Fall Collection (Part 2)

by Andy on September 24, 2008

My man over in Vancouver, Wrongwroks, has released the second part of his fall collection and it stick to the tried and tested formula of mashing up pop culture icons. There’s also a bit of a sad story to one of the tees being released. Tony’s dog, Nana, died recently, but there were already plans afoot to release a tee with her image on it, and Tony decided to continue with the release anyway. I’d say that Nana was the topic that is discussed the most on the Wrongwroks blog, and whilst I’m not exactly an animal lover I must admit that Nana may well be the best looking dog I’ve ever seen (there’s a couple of pics in the gallery), so why shouldn’t she have her own tee?

On a less depressing note, I absolutely love the Dorabob x Comma De Garcon hats from this release.

Wrongwrok’s Fall Collection 2008

by Andy on September 11, 2008

Wrongwroks continues his/their (I’m never sure which to put) blistering release schedule by putting up their Fall line just a few weeks after returning from a triumphant show in Taipei. I really like the selection of hats that have just been released, the ‘Everyone Steals’ tee is a nice jab at his critics, and the Dorabob character has evolved once again, this time being mashed up with a Marlboro colorway.

Wrongwroks has been a very busy boy

by Andy on September 1, 2008

Wrongwroks headed out to Taiwan recently to take part in a show called Real Fake. The show exhibited works by three artists, Stay Real, Kea, and of course, Wrongwroks.

Alongside the exhibition of printed works there was also a tee release. Some people arrived at 7am in the morning to ensure they could pick up the new black Dorabob tee by Stay Real, and it didn’t even go on sale until 1pm! The tee was limited to 100 pieces, and sold out in 20 minutes (though there are now a few available on the WR site), so I guess turning up early was actually a pretty good idea. Refreshingly, fans were allowed to take pictures in the exhibition, which is something I like to see, because who are you really harming if you take a picture in a gallery?

Oh, and Wrongwroks has released a couple of really cool hats too.

I’ve gone a bit picture crazy with this post, so if you click through for the rest of the entry (RSS readers might have the whole thing without needing to click through) then there’s a pretty big gallery for you to peruse.

5 ‘new’ tees from Wrongwroks

by Andy on August 21, 2008

I guess I could put ironic air-quotes around everything that Wrongwroks release since the vast majority of their work is based upon pop culture mashups, but in this case its because some of the designs have already been released in different colourways. Even though the designs aren’t particularly new the photos look pretty great.

More new tees from Wrongwroks

by Andy on August 5, 2008

Speaking of Canadian labels (although I guess Montreal and Vancouver are very different places), here’s the latest releases from Wrongwroks. The little gallery above shows off their latest offerings, including a couple of tees with NAT on them and a special triple collaboration between wrongwroks, Camilla D’Errico, and Baxbear.

A couple of you commented on my last Wrongwroks post that you were getting a virus warning when you opened the site. I e-mailed them about it and it has since been fixed, but please let me know if the problems persists for you.

I wonder how Wrongwroks can possibly eat or drink anything with his tongue placed ever so firmly in his cheek all the time.

I really like the new hat with the dots on it, but I’m not so sure about the tee with tennis ace/hotty Maria Sharapova chowing down on a banana rather suggestively, I can’t see myself wearing it, but I guess that it does fit with Wrongwroks ethos.
