Pretty damn polished for a preview right? I like the way that they don’t actually show any of the t-shirts at any point, just the designs.

XLarge x Cookie Monster… what?

by Andy on March 21, 2009

Collaborations are so weird, there has to be some crazy leap for XLarge to reach out to Sesame street about making a tee together, and an even crazier leap for Sesame street to think it was a good idea, but I guess it’s okay since they ended up with a tee that’s… okay.

Costiness=5040 yen (I’m not going to translate because I’m sure it will be more than a tee should cost) Buy it at Calif

XLarge x Halo Wars Pack

by Andy on March 1, 2009

I think we can safely file this post under ‘things you won’t buy’ unless you happen to be in Hong Kong, and probably near the front of a long line of streetwear obsessives. Actually, this collaboration between XLarge and the Halo team was released at HK Double Park locations on February 26th, so your best bet is probably eBay by this point.

So, you won’t be buying this collabo pack (tee, hat, USB stick), but are any HYA-ers going to be picking up Halo Wars on Tuesday? Is this going to be the game that makes me regret not dumping half the contents of my suitcase out and replacing it with my Xbox?

I’m already finding lots of items available in limited sizes, so run>walk. Oh, and I’m pretty sure the sale is online only, so not applicable in their physical store.

A Long List of T-Shirt Sales & Deals… again

by Andy on December 12, 2008

PICT1080 (Large)

[This picture is just to prove that I do leave the house sometimes and don’t just blog about clothes] You’d have thought that Black Friday would have been the high point for sales, but I think my inbox has actually been seeing more hot sale action than ever before over the past week or so. If I wrote a post about every deal I think I’d still be writing about them after Christmas, so instead of that, what follows will be an orgy of savings.

  • Random Shirts: They’ve marked all their regular tees down to $8 until Christmas, I think the discount gets added to your cart once you start the checkout process.
  • The Cotton Factory: This deal ends tonight at midnight (unknown timezone), use the coupon code REVENGEOFHOLIDAZE and you’ll get 10% off your order
  • Urban Retro: Up until Wednesday December 18th you can get 20% off clothes at UR by using the coupon code FASHION20.
  • XLarge: Get 10% off at XLarge by using the coupon code iheartxl. Unknown end date, all their hats seem to be 20% off at the moment too.
  • Spicy Brown: If you’re in the mood for some Japanese-inspired designs and want 25% off them, use the coupon code holiday08 before December 19th and you’ll get just that. Also, free shipping on order over $75.
  • Bean Dip Clothing: The BD crew are offering free shipping, presumably until Christmas, as it is their holiday offer.
  • Social-T: A t-shirt subscription makes a pretty good gift (a random, limited edition tee sent to you every month), and if you sign up now you get a free trucker hat.
  • ThinkGeek: This one is more than just tees, but TG are pretty much a one-stop shop for buying gifts for the special nerd in your life. Up until December 14th, you can get free shipping (in the continental U.S.) when you spend more than $40, by using the coupon code SHIPFREE.
  • Amorphia / Wear Science! / Teach the Controversy: Get 20% off at all three of those stores by using the coupon code AMORPHIAROCKS before December 15th. There’s also a few new designs at Science! that you’ll want to check out.
  • PleaseDressMe x BustedTees: These two have teamed up to offer you a selection of Busted Tees, uhh, tees for the low, low price of $7.77, which is $4.23 cheaper than the tees on their own sale page!
  • 80s Purple: They’ve knocked 30% off their entire range of Obey Clothing, get in the action by using the coupon code OBEYME before December 15th.
  • Mustache & Friends: Get 20% off your order in their mustache-based store by using the coupon code apmustache, I’m not sure when this one ends.
  • Oath Threadline: Get 20% off your order at OT by using the coupon code apoath, I’d tell you when this deal ends, but I simply do not know.
  • Threadless: In addition to their current sale of $5, $10 and $15 tees, you’ll get free shipping ($7 off for international customers) when you spend $50 or more.
  • The Urban Shop: They have reduced the prices of everything in stock, with discounts of up to 60%.
  • Methods NYC: They’ve got a sale going on with up to 50% off some items.
  • AMP Street: There’s 25% off everything in store at this European streetwear store.
  • AAITSKI: They have a sliding sale, the more you buy, the more you save. Buy 1 tee and get 10% off, buy 2 and get 20% off, buy 3 or more and you’ll receive 30% off the cost of your tees.

    XLarge DIY Contest

Press release first, my thoughts second:

It’s back – the XLarge Design Contest – your chance to gain immortality within the echelons of designers like Angela Johnson, G. Dan Covert, Billy Valdez, Rory Wilson and the winner last time, Winston Acosta.

GET STARTED! Check out the contest entry page and use the design templates to create your own original design. Post them up using the form. On June 30th, 2008 we’ll review the submissions and announce a winner. Entries will be judged on originality and sauce.

The grand prize winner will see his or her print make it into production for our Spring 09 season. They will receive a bunch of shirts and a $100 Gift Cerfiticate to the website. Three runners up will receive $25 Gift Certificates to the website and due props for nearly making it.

You can enter as often as you like. Don’t forget to read the rules before you enter.

    Good luck!

Is it just me, or does that prize seem more than a little stingy to you? Considering that XLarge aren’t exactly a small operation, just look at the amount of stores they have, and that list doesn’t include other retails locations they’re stocked in. I guess that being able to say that you’ve designed a tee for XLarge would look good in a portfolio simply because they’re a respected name, but considering this tee is going to be in their Spring 09 collection I’d expect the prize to include something you could pay the bills with too.

    XLarge: Spring Sale

by Andy on March 22, 2008

I’ve got a review coming up of an XLarge hoody that I bought in Hong Kong (yes, I actually bought something), but just to whet your appetite here’s news of a coupon code and sale from XLarge’s mailout:

Head to the site now and pick up anything there for 15% off the normal retail price – if you use the coupon code in the Archives section – that’s 50% off! (Everything in the Archives is already listed at 35% off – check it).

Don’t delay – the sale won’t last long. Use Coupon Code “spring2008” and pick something up for a friend too.

    Big Crown by XLarge

    big crown pullover by XLarge
I haven’t mentioned XLarge for a while, but they dropped some fresh gear last week that just begged to be mentioned. I know it incorporates their logo and some people aren’t down with that, but its kind of what XLarge do, and I feel compelled to respect the audacity of a company that puts a crown on top of their own logo. It’s a nice looking, chunky, faux-camouflage too, but its pretty much begging for gold foil behind the camo.
