“Nevermind” t-shirt by Yackfou

by Andy on July 18, 2012

nevermind yackfou t-shirt

This tee isn’t cheap at €34.90, but as we have discussed many times on HYA, Germany is not a cheap country when it comes to clothes, but Yackfou have designs good enough to justify theextra expense (well, maybe not to an American, but compared to UK prices it isn’t that outrageous). With that out the way, isn’t this shirt bloody lovely!

yackfou clearance sale

In the past Yackfou have been pretty tight with their sales, knocking of €5 here and there on a few items, so this sale is a pretty big departure for them, as there is rather a lot of stuff on sale. Sure, we’ve seen lower prices for things that are regularly priced, but clothing Germany (where Yackfou are based) is expensive, so these are good deals on good products, and there is worldwide shipping included on these prices (I think).

All hoodies now €30 at Yackfou

by Andy on January 12, 2010

You’re probably thinking “Andy, hoodies for €30 hardly seems like something to celebrate, you handsome though foolish fellow who walks on Lakes.” And you’d be right (I certainly am handsome), €30 hoodies aren’t astoundingly cheap, but they were €59.90 each before they were cut down, so it is a significant saving. No word on when this sale will be ending, so hop to it if you’re interested.

*Apparently the sale is now over, it must have only lasted a day, would’ve been good if Yackfou had made that clearer, sorry.

What’s new from Yackfou?

This is, that’s what. Looks good, and typically Yackfousian, fans of the brand should have nothing to complain about, those horizontal line tees aren’t doing much for me though.

newsletter_catalog_teaser

When I was walking through security at the airport for my flight home from Berlin, I noticed someone wearing a Yackfou t-shirt, and I realised that I should have gone to check out their bricks & mortar store, especially considering that Berlin’s excellent public transport system makes going anywhere in the city fairly convenient. Well, there’s always next time.

So when I got their newsletter announcing the Summer line I was pretty excited to see what they’d come up with this time around. Unfortunately, my excitement diminished somewhat when I checked out the store. It’s not that there’s anything particularly wrong with their latest offerings, it just doesn’t wow me quite as much as previous collections. That said, Wood & Piano are both standout pieces even if I wouldn’t associate them with the typical Yackfou style, though maybe I don’t know what that typical style is anymore!

I don’t think I’ve ever featured a hoodie dress produced by American Apparel before. It pretty much looks like a regular hoodie, I presume it must just be longer than a normal one. Any ladies in the audience own a hoodie dress? And if so, why?

A Neu collection from Yackfou

by Andy on November 27, 2008

It’s winter, and Yackfou are German, so they’ve done the sensible thing and created a collection that includes a healthy percentage of hoodies. By the way, I’m not saying they’re sensible because they’re German, I’m not intending to stereotype them, I just imagine that they winter can be pretty chilly in Germany.

ZickZack by Yackfou

by Andy on August 7, 2008

Here’s a fun take on a pattern print from the Berliners at Yackfou, and as part of their summer sale season its reduced in price until August 12th. Every week they’re taking a couple of items from their store and putting them on sale, so check back each week if there’s something you’ve had your eye on but weren’t quite willing to part with your cash for.

Yackfou’s new store in Berlin

Shirtspotting headed down to Yackfou‘s store on opening day to take advantage of that special 50% off one-day sale, and also to snap a few pictures. Google Translate hasn’t done a particularly good job in letting us non-German speakers understand what Markus is actually saying, but from what I can tell, he likes it.Click on through for more pictures.

Yackfou open a shop? Wunderbar!

by Andy on June 30, 2008

Do you remember Yackfou? They’re a bunch of Berliners who produce clothes that have a touch of awesome about them, and now you don’t just have to buy those clothes online, you can buy them in their shop (yes, a real shop, with windows and stuff).Well, not quite yet, the shop, located on the Boxhagener Platz, Friedrichshain, in the centre of Berlin, doesn’t actually open until July 5th, and when it does, Berliners, you’re gonna want to head down. On the opening day, everything in the shop is going to have 50% off, which certainly isn’t a price cut to be sniffed at (whatever that means). They’ll also be selling prototype and sample pieces in the shop, which is nice.

Yack Fou: total German hotness

by Andy on September 21, 2006

Yack Fou is new to me, and I must say that I am very, very impressed. Impressed to the point were I’m not at all concerned that they’ve slapped their name on almost all their products!

There’s a lot of strong, bright and vibrant colours, combined with well-defined vector art based designs. The style creates some really modern and refreshing designs, I’ve been struglling to describe the style (so many rewrites!) but I think in some cases its almost as if they’ve taken web-design and transplanted it onto clothing (let’s hope MySpace don’t steal that idea…).

I wish I could tell you more about the brand, but I don’t really speak any German, though they did tell me that they are working on an English verision, and you’ll be able to work your way around quite easily (katalog=catalogue, shop=shop, need more?).
